Don Damron has been planning rail transportation projects for over 25 years. He got his start in the 1980’s while working on the light rail system plan for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) project and he has also been involved in the planning for the Baltimore Central Light Rail Line. He has worked as a planner for the Ohio High Seed Rail Authority and the Ohio Rail Development Commission where he now manages the Commission’s passenger rail planning program and has been responsible for the development of the Ohio & Lake Erie Regional Rail – Ohio Hub Plan along with its associated Economic Impact Studies. He also serves as Ohio’s representative on the Midwest Regional Rail Initiative Steering Committee. Don helped draft Ohio’s successful application to the FRA for $400 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding for initiating passenger rail service on Ohio’s Cleveland – Columbus – Dayton – Cincinnati high speed rail corridor. Don received his Bachelor of Urban Planning degree from the University of Cincinnati and his Master of Arts from the Ohio State University. Don is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
