Kar Mei is the head of research at the Australian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association Ltd (AVCAL). She was previously with the Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre and Securities Industry Research Centre of Asia-Pacific (SIRCA), and consulted for clients such as the ASX and Canada's Market Regulatory Services Inc. Prior to that Kar Mei worked in financial market regulation, and was a member of various APEC and ASEAN committees on financial market development. She has published extensively including in JFQA and Brookings Institution Press.
