India’s Visionary Leaders Panel: Propelling India’s growing pharmaceutical industry through innovations and strategic partnerships

India is gaining momentum in positioning itself as significant player in the global biopharmaceutical industry. India’s leading pharmaceutical companies are making their mark in the local and international markets by producing high quality and reliable drugs. On top of this, these top players are still finding various ways to expand their businesses. They aim to form strategic partnerships, drive innovation and venture into new markets. What are the key drivers and future opportunities for India’s biopharmaceutical players within India and internationally? How can India successfully leverage on its growing biopharmaceutical industry?

Global Visionary Leaders Panel: Driving the biopharmaceutical industry growth by developing effective and successful business models in emerging markets

Emerging markets will be the future growth drivers of the biopharmaceutical industry. With the rising affluence of these markets, global pharmas are setting their sights to high growth and promising countries. Asia is one of the top regions that present great market potential. With high quality talent pool, developing infrastructure and growing population, it is a strategic location for global pharmas. India has been identified as an ideal location in Asia. How can global pharmas leverage on India’s burgeoning biopharmaceutical industry? What are the necessary action plans to fully tap Asia’s emerging markets?

Antibody therapeutic discovery and optimization
New exciting data on strategies to enhance antibody drug development and therapy through antibody combinations, exploring bispecificity and multi-specificity and the use of pharmacodynamic biomarkers will be discussed.

Next generation sequencing and genomic medicine applications
This track will discuss applications of genomic and clinical studies to improve different disease models and to expedite drug and diagnostic development. Application areas to be discussed include immunogenetics, neurodegenerative diseases, epigenomics and etc.

New frontier in cancer drug developments
This track will showcase evolving paradigm in cancer drug development and some of the new approaches leading scientists are using to improve the success of different cancer drug developments. Personalising cancer medicine will also be discussed.

Target identification and validation – linking targets to diseases
This track will explore the various approaches to “establish the physiological relevance of targets to disease” and discuss the various technologies, from novel to existing methods, that have proven success. These methods include genomics, proteomics, systems biology, RNAi, in vivo and computational approaches, as well as various screening/assay techniques

Predicting drug safety and efficacy
This track will discuss new strategies and approaches to preclinically predict the safety liabilities of compounds. Different emerging predictive models will be showcased and we will discuss how these new models will improve the success rate of predicting toxicity, because to date, the predictive models have been less than adequate.

Drug discovery technologies showcase
World’s leading drug discovery vendor will take the stage this year to share how advance technologies can expedite drug discovery and development in India. As only top 50 vendors are featured, we will only showcase the leading players in the world.

Poster presentation
Over 100 research poster presentations will be showcased at the event. This will further enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration across the biopharma industry in India.

Bioinformatics and next-gen data
This track covers the handling of next-generation sequencing data, combining markers/tests for usage in personal genomics, GWAS, genotyping, Gene ID, biological databases, and microarrays.

eClinical trials technology
This track explores how to leverage technology to optimize speed, quality and cost of clinical trials. Themes covered include best practices in data collection and analysis, systems integration, recruiting and engaging patient communities using Web 2.0 technologies, adaptive clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, eCTDs, and utilization of EHR data for drug development.

IT infrastructure
This track will delve into high performance computing and computing platforms and explore data handling and integration activities. Topics will include grid computing, datacenter design and data storage, collaborative data sharing, cloud computing, social networking, enterprise 2.0, open-source as well as semantic web/semantic solutions for knowledge management.
