 Dr Siew Hwa Ong,
Director & Chief Scientist Acumen Research Laboratories, Singapore Trained as a cell & molecular biologist, Dr. Ong is an expert on signal transduction mechanisms in the mammalian cell that control their growth, death, motility, architecture, metabolism & cell transformation due to genomic changes or genetic mutations. Dr. Ong has conducted independent research in Singapore, US & Canada; and joined the pharmaceutical industry in 2007. Leveraging cumulative experience in cell signaling & biological processes in protein phosphorylation, GDP/GTP activity switches, ubiquitination & epigenetic regulation of gene expression, Dr. Ong is highly specialized in target identification, validation & enablement in cancer for compound testing. Since 2004, Dr. Ong has been an adjunct faculty member at the National University of Singapore & conducts lectures on Tumour Biology.
