Margaret van der Merwe completed her electrical engineering degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 1991. Her first position was as factory engineer at an export and EU approved red meat abattoir. Thereafter, she joined the consultancy fraternity and specialised in project development, management and continuous improvement initiatives. Returning to her home country, she set up a consultancy office in the same disciplines as well as became involved in establishing the electrical engineering department at the Polytechnic of Namibia. She became the head of the department. In July 2003 she joined NamPower’s executive management as the Head of Generation. Since July 2004 she is dedicated to leading the Kudu Gas to Power project for NamPower

Sibongile Shongwe, Senior Manager - Compliance and Governance in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Eskom, will be presenting at Power & Electricity World Africa on the 17th of March.
 
Shongwe will address the various compliance considerations when doing business with the utility as well as Eskom’s overall procurement system. Eskom will also detail its plans and agenda on opportunities for BEE and SMME supplier development.
