Bus Rapid Transport Australia 2010 unites bus transport operators, transport authorities,
government agencies and suppliers to address the key issues affecting the development of BRT and evaluate its effectiveness as a mass transit solution.
Bus Rapid Transport Australia 2010 forms part of the 2nd annual Urban Transport World event and will feature case studies of BRT systems operating in Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, the UK and Ottawa. The conference will examine design, operational and
maintenance issues and compare BRT against other transport modes.
Designed after extensive research with the bus industry, the conference agenda provides an overview of advanced BRT systems operating in Australia and around the world, examines the business case for building a BRT, looks at infrastructure design, operational and maintenance issues, evaluates its cost effectiveness compared to other transport modes and addresses the evolution of BRT into light rail.
The event builds on the outstanding success that was Urban Transport World 2009, providing a comprehensive overview of the latest strategies, projects, technologies and issues surrounding the growth and development of BRT.

Now in its 2nd year, Urban Transport World Australia responds to the need for real leadership and innovation in urban transport planning and delivery. With over 60 confirmed speakers, the event provides a platform for policy makers, transport operators, financiers, and urban planning experts to facilitate the policies and solutions needed to finance, build and operate urban transport.
The event is centered on the following themes: Policy and Strategy, Transport Financing and Construction, Operations and Transport and Technology for urban transport.
The event will consist of a two day plenary followed by a third day divided into two streams:
1. MetroRail Australia: covering not just Metro, but also the place of heavy rail and light rail as part of the broader urban rail mix.
2. Transport Technology & Innovation: covering fare management, integrated ticketing, intelligent transport solutions and toll road delivery
