Tim has degrees in law and philosophy, with postgraduate qualifications in marketing and holds the position of Adjunct Professor to the Faculty of Design at Swinburne University in Melbourne. Over 12 years in the branding sector, Tim has undertaken major strategic projects for clients in most industry sectors, with both local market and international focus. Some of the projects Tim has worked on include assignments with The National Australia Bank, AMP, BHP Billiton, IPPL (Petronas/Indian Oil JV), Unilever, Tourism Australia, Korean Air (JinAir), Ansett & Air New Zealand, Austrade, Yellow Pages, Cricket Australia, Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, Melbourne 2007 FINA World Swimming Championships, Crown Casino and Australia’s bid for the 2018-2022 FIFA World Cup. Tim is the main Asia Pacific presenter of FutureBrand’s global Country Brand Index study. In the area of country branding, Tim’s experience is extensive. In addition to the major event projects listed above, Tim has worked on brand projects with Tourism Australia in the creation of the Brand Australia identity, Austrade and Invest Australia to achieve a more consistent approach to country branding across tourism, export and investment. Most recently, Tim worked on the branding of Australia’s bid for the 2018-2022 FIFA World Cup – a specific way of leveraging Australia’s strong country brand to improve its chance of success in bidding for the world’s premier sporting event.
