Chris Doak is in his 5th Year as CEO at Hamilton International Airport, having joined in February 2006. During his time at Hamilton Chris has conducted a number of projects including: • aeronautical and non-aeronautical Airport Master planning • re-establishing and leading regional tourism and destination marketing for central North Island’s Waikato region • recapitalisation projects • strategic marketing, attracting airline Pacific Blue to the region • $15M Terminal development, being awarded the New Zealand Airport’s Association Project of the Year, becoming a case study for ACI’s ASQ survey. • $200M commercial business park joint venture between Hamilton Airport and McConnell Property Group Ltd. • aeronautical re pricing • land rezoning project, air noise boundary and runway designations programs Previously to becoming CEO at Hamilton, Chris was employed by WEL Energy Group (now WEL Networks) as General Manager, Growth & Development where he delivered a number of projects including the Te Uku Wind Farm, Gas Generation, and Telecommunications projects. Chris is a qualified engineer with a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree from Canterbury University and is completing Business Administration studies at Mt Eliza Business School in Melbourne. In his spare time, Chris is a successful horse breeder, producing New Zealand’s highest rated international galloper in 2009.
