Chief Executive Officer Airways New Zealand Ashley Smout joined Airways New Zealand in 1999, and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2002.
Airways New Zealand is one of the worlds leading providers of commercial Air Navigation Services, responsible for managing all domestic and international air traffic operating within New Zealand's 37 million square kilometres of airspace.
In 2003, and again in 2008, Airways New Zealand was awarded the IATA Eagle Award for outstanding performance in customer satisfaction, cost efficiency and continuous improvement.
In 2005 Ashley was appointed as Chairman of the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO), and is currently serving his fifth term of office.
