Mr Anthony Petteford, speaking at Aviation Outlook Australia 2010

Mr Anthony Petteford,
Managing Director
Oxford Aviation Academy (Australia) Pty Ltd

Anthony qualified as a Graduate Engineer and completed his Masters Degree in Air Transport Management at Cranfield University in 1986. His first airline job was with Dan Air was as a Route & Licensing Analyst before joining BA on their Young Professionals Programme. Yearning to run his own business, an opportunity of a life-time came up 4 years later to run a New York City Jazz club where he really learned the meaning of good customer service. Returning to a rather depressed UK a few years later, he joined Microsoft Training for 7 years and became their Group Training Manager – responsible for 8 UK training centres. In 1998 he spotted an opportunity to join Oxford Aviation Training as GM & Director of Training - thus recombining his love of business and aviation. Following an envious sabbatical with bmi as a First Officer pilot on the Airbus A320, he rejoined Oxford following 911 - where he still works today as Managing Director of ab-initio training - delivering ATPL training for approaching 1000 students through 3 ab-initio training centres worldwide. A keen aviator - Anthony has been a pilot for 25 years, holds an ATPL, is a flight Instructor, and holds Airbus A320/B757 type ratings.
