Zhu Kai currently holds the executive positions as Executive Chairman of the Board and President at Deer Air based in Beijing and Chairman of the Board at West Air based in Chongqing in China. Both of the two airlines are subsidiaries of Hainan Airlines Group headquartered in Haikou in Hainan province of China. Kai joined Hainan Airlines Group in December, 2007 after being an international front liner managing airline business in both operation and commercial aspects for more than two decades. Before joining Hainan Airline Group, Kai was President and CEO of United Eagle Airlines based in Chengdu, Sichuan Province in PRC. As a seasoned airline executive, Kai brings with her the knowledge and experience in a full spectrum of airline operations, strategic and fiscal planning, product design, customer service, aviation safety and security, and airline code-share alliance development. Especially, Kai’s experience of creating United Eagle Airlines maintains her unique position in developing the products and services offered by Deer Air and West Air in China. Kai’s in depth understanding of China aviation market combined with the first hand experience in handling many critical issues through different period of challenging times of airline industry shall enable her to stay in leading position among small and mid sized air carriers. Started as a Flight Attendant Manager at Northwest Airlines in 1990, Kai has advanced her airline career through a solid career track. The other positions Kai held at Northwest Airlines, in the United States and China, include Senior Analyst International Product Design, Customer Service Manager Airport Ground Operations, Regional Manager Field Fleet and Plant Maintenance, District Manager Beijing and Northern China, Chief Representative and District Manager Shanghai, and Division Head International Operations at World Gate Way Detroit International Airport. Kai graduated Cum Laude from St. Thomas University in St. Paul, Minnesota, and studied MBA at Beijing Campus of Rutgers University. While representing airlines, Kai held various professional leadership positions as Board of Governors Am-Cham Shanghai, Chairman Airport Operator Committee Beijing, Chairman Airport Operator Committee Shanghai, and IATA ACC Panel Member.
