Ping specialises in dispute resolution, arbitration and litigation together with aviation insurance and reinsurance and liability matters. Following the award of the highest mark in Chengdu municipality for the Chinese Lawyers Qualification Examination, Ping was admitted in China in 1988. Whilst practising law in the Economic Law Firm in Chengdu between 1988 and 1993, Ping has gained an extensive knowledge and experience in contract negotiation and commercial litigation in China. Ping also has a unique insight into the insurance market having worked as an aviation broker for Marsh (UK) Ltd between 1995 and 2001. Whilst at Marsh, Ping specialised in business emanating from China and the Asia Pacific regions. In 2000, Ping obtained an associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) and was awarded Beaumont Prizes for the highest marks for two subjects. Ping qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2005. On qualification, she joined Gates and Partners from Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, where she completed her trainee solicitor contract in the aviation department. In 2003 and 2005 respectively, Ping was awarded a commendation in the Common Professional Examinations (CPE) and a distinction in the Legal Practise Course (LPC). She is the co-author of Questions & Solutions in Commercial Law, a book published in China in 1988. Ping is a native speaker of Mandarin.
