 Mr Peter Ryan-Kane,
Head of Portfolio Advisory, Asia Pacific Watson Wyatt Worldwide Peter Ryan-Kane is Watson Wyatt's Head of Portfolio Advisory for the Asia-Pacific region, based in Hong Kong. He is responsible for driving investment solutions for clients in Asia. He sits on the firms Global Investment Committee and chairs the regional Portfolio Construction Group. Peter has more than 20 years of experience in financial markets as an advisor, investor, borrower and risk manager. He rejoined Watson Wyatt in 2009 after two and half years at Credit Suisse, where he was responsible for Product Development, Investment Solutions and Institutional Coverage for Asia Pacific. Prior to that, Peter was a Principal Investment Consultant at Watson Wyatt where he worked with Watson Wyatt clients on a broad range of investment issues and contributed to strategic thinking and sector research. Prior to joining Watson Wyatt in late 2004, Peter was an Investment Consultant with Towers Perrins asset consulting business in Australia. Peter was responsible for research into Fixed Income, Commodities, Global Property and Capital Markets, together with general consulting work with clients. Before joining Towers Perrin, Peter was Head of Interest Rate Risk Management at National Australia Bank, with responsibility for all non-traded interest rate risk, management of the Asset and Liability Management (ALCO) process and global best practice. Prior to this, Peter spent nine years with INVESCO Asset Management, initially as Head of Australian Fixed Income and finally as Global Chief Investment Officer, Worldwide Fixed Income. Peter developed the fixed income investment process at INVESCO in Australia, a team of investment professionals, and a dynamic risk management system for client portfolios. As Global CIO, Peter worked in Louisville, Kentucky and London with global responsibility for process improvement, product quality, process engineering and risk. From 1986 to 1994, Peter worked for the South Australian Government, initially as a Financial Analyst and finally as Manager, Financial Markets at the South Australian Financing Authority. Peter received a Bachelor of Economics Degree from the University of Adelaide (1986), qualified for the Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia (1992), and received his CFA Charter in 2001.Appearing: Pre-Conference Masterclasses: Monday, 15 March 2010 10am Registration begins at 9.00am with the masterclasses commencing at 10.00am and ending at 3.00pm.
