 Mr Bruce Pflaum,
President | Chief Executive Officer Russell Investments Japan | Russell Investments Asia Bruce Pflaum is President of Russell Investments Japan and CEO of Russell Investments Asia. Bruce is responsible for Russells business activities and initiatives throughout Asia and Japan. Bruce joined Russell in 1995 as director of consulting for Russells New Zealand and Asian clients, after more than 10 years of experience living and working in Asia. In 1997, he assumed overall responsibility for developing Russells business in Asia and in 1999 became managing director of Russells newly established regional office in Singapore. Since then, he set up operations in Korea and established country teams to manage Russells retail and institutional business in Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Malaysia. Having lived and worked in Asia for over 20 years, Bruce has dealt with a wide range of clients and financial issues and his breadth of experience in working with Asian and Western companies in regional financial markets provides Russell clients with key insights. In addition, Bruce represents Russell Investments internationally and is actively involved with the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) which was created by the APEC Economic Leaders to advise on the implementation of the Osaka Action Agenda and on other specific business sector priorities. Bruce also serves on the Board of the US based National Center for APEC and has participated widely in regional forums regarding retirement security in Asia. Prior to joining Russell, Bruce spent nearly two decades in wide-ranging trading and risk management roles in the U.S., Japan and Hong Kong for major US financial institutions.
