Urban Transport World Australia 2009
Investment and development for operators, developers, government and investors
Responding to the national urban transport challenge

A well-functioning transport system is vital to the continued success of the Australian economy and to our quality of life. A well-designed strategy is needed to support economic growth and encourage partners to work together to reduce the problems of congestion, pollution and safety, while improving access to jobs and services.

Now, thanks to technological breakthroughs, changing public opinion and highly successful demonstrations around the world, it is clear that a new path is achievable if there is a will to forge it. That path must start with an honest assessment of the current transportation system and the implementation of a new approach to strategic transport planning.

Achieving a more sustainable balance between private and public transport through balanced infrastructure investment (road, rail, bus and other transport modes) and improved public transport system management is the key to success.

Urban Transport Word 2009 brings public and private sector infrastructure policy makers, financiers and urban planning experts together with providers of transport services and solutions to shape Australia's urban transport future.
