  • African operators discussed their main focus areas as being Operations and IT, Human Resources, Infrastructure development , Equipment and Marketing  
  • Our keynote speakers including Howard Rosen, Chairman, Rail Working Group, Switzerland and Mike Karakadzai, General Manager of National Railways of Zimbabwe who both gave insightful presentations
  • Lucky Montana, CEO of SARCC.Metrorail hosted an on the floor question and answer session for suppliers in industry. 
  • His Excellency Mr Navdeep Suri Consular General of India opened the exhibition with Siyabonga Gama, CEO of Transnet. The ambassador highlighted India’s interest and investment into Africa, with an expanding presence for 2009
  • The 1st annual Africa Rail Awards was a fantastic success where top performers in Africa were recongnised. 
  • Complimentary seminars held in the exhibition area were well attended, with exciting product launches. Transnet Freight Rail hosted a dedicated session on "how to do business with them”
