 Mr Yahya Jalil,
Head of Private Equity, TNI, and Senior Executive Officer, TNI Dubai Ltd (UAE) TNI Dubai Ltd A Wharton and Stanford graduate, Jalil has a 12 year history in investment banking and private equity. He started his career at Credit Suisse First Boston, Investment Banking in New York, as an Industries and Automotive Analyst. After his 2 years at CSFB, Jalil moved to GE Capital where he took a Private Equity, Assistant Vice President role. There, Jalil led investments in technology, media and telecoms during the sector’s exciting late 90’s period until 2001. At GE Capital Jalil completed sixteen transactions worth over $250MM. Jalil started a 3 year stint as Vice President - Investment Banking at Jefferies & Company in 2003. In his time there, Jalil advised clients globally on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations. Transactions advised on included the $200 million sale of Brooktrout to Excel Switching Corporation, the $120 million purchase of N2Broadband, the $80 million purchase of Goldpocket, and the $85 million purchase of Skystream Networks by Tandberg Television ASA. In 2006 Jalil joined TNI where he manages the private equity division, overseeing all of the Group’s private equity activities, including management of traditional 3rd party (LP/GP) private equity funds and TNI’s principal direct investments. Jalil acts as fund manager for TNI’s flagship late stage growth capital and buyout fund – TNI Growth Capital Fund I. At TNI he oversees many successful investments across the MENASA region and to date has created various exit opportunities through M&A and private placements, in addition to exits through IPOs. To date Jalil has achieved triple digit realized IRR on the fund’s investments.
