Mr Richard Blakesley,
Managing Director
Fairfax Investment Management

Richard has fifteen years of European and United States investment banking experience, working as a mergers and acquisitions specialist for Lehman Brothers, Chase Manhattan and JP Morgan. Latterly he was Managing Director in charge of JP Morgan’s UK insurance and asset management practice. Prior to that he ran JP Morgan’s European Telecoms, Media and Technology M&A business. Since leaving JP Morgan in 2003 Richard has co-founded or been an active early-stage investor in seven business ventures in the financial services and technology areas, four of which have been IPO’d. He joined Fairfax, the London-based merchant bank, in 2007 as head of investment management and is responsible for new in-house managed fund launches as well as for Fairfax’s discretionary fund management business. Fairfax has recently launched the world’s first Shariah-compliant physical gold fund and is planning further launches in the commodities and private equity areas through its London and Dubai offices. Richard has a BA from Oxford University.
