 Mr Jan Pensaert,
Chief Executive Officer and CIO Valiance Advisors (UK) Jan Pensaert is CEO, CIO and a founding partner of Valiance Advisors LLP. Valiance was founded in 2008 and invests in Special Opportunities in a hybrid way through both a Fund of Funds and a Co-Investment Fund. Mr Pensaert utilises his extensive network in hedge funds/asset management, in addition to his investment banking contacts, to bring the best possible investment opportunities to his clients. Valiance has recently launched a Brazilian farmland acquisition vehicle and continues to grow as a platform for unique investment opportunities.
From 2003 to 2007, Mr Pensaert was CEO of La Fayette Investment Management, a leading fund of hedge funds, where he was responsible for the overall business management of the firm, as well as second member of the investment committee. During his tenure, the AUM of the La Fayette Funds increased from $750 million to $5.5 billion.
Prior to La Fayette, Mr Pensaert was responsible for the Permal Group’s European-based investment management and research activities from 2001-2003. Prior to that, he was active at Lazard from 1995, in Corporate Finance M&A, where he advised on transactions with a total value >$40 billion.
