Mr Nabil Hamadeh

Mr Nabil Hamadeh,
CEO
Capital Growth Management

As the CEO and majority partner of Bahrain based CGM (Capital Growth Management), Mr. Hamadeh concentrates on strategic investment advisory. Mr. Hamadeh moved to Bahrain in 2005 with the clear mission of setting up a multi family office based on the fundamental belief in the notions of TRANSPARENCY and ALIGNMENT OF INTEREST, which he felt were often lacking in large and conventional investment institutions. Having worked for large multi-national financial institutions over 30 years, he concluded that their advantages of scale and resources are inevitably compromised by the traditional private banking business model. As a result, he identified CGM, which was established in 1997, as a suitable platform and transformed the core business of CGM from an “open architecture distribution” model to an “advisory” model. Mr. Hamadeh now enjoys and highly values working directly for the families and investors who appoint CGM as their investment advisors. With an international career ranging over several locations Mr. Hamadeh always kept his scope on the Middle East. Before his recent move to Bahrain, Mr. Hamadeh worked in London for 17 years. Prior to CGM he worked for Arab Bank PLC, London for a period of 2 years, as the Global Head of Asset Management and Private Banking. From 1997 till 2002 Mr. Hamadeh established and, as Managing Director, managed a joint venture with Baring Asset Management, London. It was that “open architecture” environment that confirmed to Mr. Hamadeh the value of providing relatively more independent investment advice to institutional as well as major private clients in the Middle East. In the nine years between 1988 and 1997 Mr. Hamadeh worked in the role of Managing Director at Bankers Trust, London, as the Head of Private Banking, Middle East. In addition to developing and marketing private banking products he personally initiated and then contributed significantly towards redirecting the global private banking strategy. Again, the key objective was to deliver the best bank-wide resources to clients who previously had only limited access through private banking channels. Prior to his investment career, Mr. Hamadeh worked at Gulf International Bank, Bahrain (1983-1988), Mr. Hamadeh was responsible for all the corporate, institutional and government lending activities as Head of the Near East Region. Prior to that, the base of this career was founded in 7 years experience with Citibank in corporate and institutional banking in Riyadh, Bahrain and Athens. Mr. Hamadeh holds an MBA from Warwick University, UK and a B.Sc (Honors) degree in Air Transport Engineering from The City University, London.
