 Mr Mohammed Azab,
CEO, UAE Citi Private Bank Mohammed’s key focus is to develop, grow and manage the Citi Private Bank’s offices in the UAE as well as develop private banking relationships with high net worth individuals and families in the Middle East region. He manages a team of Bankers, specialists covering investments, trusts, credit and general banking services, within the Citi Private Bank’s platform
Before rejoining the Citi Private Bank in 2007, Mohammed worked since 1999, for Arab Bank plc as UAE Country Manager. His main responsibilities included managing Retail and Corporate banking businesses as well as all support functions. Prior to that Mohammed worked for 10 years in various senior positions in Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait – at Head Office in Bahrain and was in 1996 he established and managed BBK’s Representative Office in Dubai, a position he held for 3 years.
In 1981, Mohammed joined Citibank N.A. in Dubai as a Corporate Credit & Marketing Officer where he served in that role both in Dubai and Abu Dhabi teams, and within 5 years was promoted to the position of Resident Vice-President in charge of the Abu Dhabi Financial Institutions business where he managed the Citibank’s exposure to Banks, Insurance Companies and other Federal and Local Government entities. From 1979 to 1980, Mohammed established the Brokerage Office for the Arab Finance Corporation in the Amman Financial Market.
In 1979, Mohammed obtained his Masters of International Management degree from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) – Arizona, USA and obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Jordan in Amman in 1977.
