The Electricity Networks Association (ENA) represents the interests of the organisations that distribute electricity to consumers throughout New Zealand, the country’s electricity lines companies – generally known as the lines sector. We are a lean organization (one full time and two part time staff) funded by a levy on members, and overseen by an elected board appointed annually at the Association’s annual general meeting.
ENA doesn’t represent electricity retailers (the companies that sell electricity, which are mainly owned by generators), nor the government-owned transmission company – Transpower - that carries electricity from power stations to the various connection points where ENA members take over.
