Matt Whittingham is a digital business leader with an accomplished track record in delivering product, marketing and content for BT, MSN, Microsoft and Vodafone.
Matt has over 15 years in the digital space. He managed MSN UK’s portal and search business for three years in London, before heading down under, to oversee Vodafone’s Content and Mobile Internet business here in Sydney.
Matt recently joined Optus, and is responsible for multi platform advertising, content and portal strategy.

Angus Beattie joined 3 in July 2007 and is responsible for the company’s mobile advertising strategy and delivery.
Prior to joining 3, Angus has spent the majority of his career in the Sydney digital market commercialising mobile and online content services. Angus has most recently worked for News Digital Media, HWW and Legion Interactive.
As a member of AIMIA’s Mobile Internet Group, Angus actively participates in a number of industry programs, including the Mobile Advertising Standards committee, Consumer Education Program and the Export Navigator Program.

Paul Buchanan runs digital music services company, Metaphoric Digital. Until recently, he was General Manager of Soundbuzz Australia, a company who specialized in digital music aggregation and retailing of downloads and ringtones for both web and mobile. Soundbuzz has facilitated the sale of millions of downloads and ringtones while ensuring correct royalty reporting. Clients have included: Optus, Bigpondmusic, Motorola, Nokia, NOVA, Yahoo!7, Woolworths Group, Channel Ten and all the major record labels. A true pioneer of the digital music industry, Soundbuzz began in 2000 and was acquired by Motorola in early 2008.
As GM of Soundbuzz, Paul has driven the growth of the business from a nascent ringtone and song download business, riding out the early cowboy days of the digital music industry, to heading a multi-faceted company at the forefront of music sales on mobile and online. Don’t tell anyone but Paul still likes to buy vinyl.

Telstra
Christophe is Executive Director, Strategy, Planning and Operations in Telstra Product Management, looking after the three-year strategic roadmap guiding the development of Telstra products and service, as well as the execution of the entire development program and the Service Delivery Framework. Christophe also directly manages the Health Services portfolio.
Prior to this role in Telstra, Christophe managed the fixed voice line of products which represents over $6b of revenue per annum including products such as PSTN and ISDN, as well as business IP Telephony, leading the evolution into Unified Communications.
Christophe brings with him the experience of an entire career in the international telecom industry both in service providers and large equipment manufacturers.
Prior to joining Telstra in 2006, Christophe was with Optus, in network operations, product development and strategy roles. He previously worked in France Telecom, Thomson and Matra-Marconi, occupying positions that led him to work in France, Singapore, in the UK and in the US.
Christophe holds Masters degrees in Mathematics, Telecoms Engineering and Robotics, and has also completed management courses with Insead in Paris.

Matt Campbell is a passionate media professional with a career spanning the past two decades, Matt was appointed to his current role as Director of Content in April 2006 and is responsible for all Content, with the exception of News and Current Affairs, on SBS Television and Online platforms. Immediately prior to this role he spent two years as Network Programmer at SBS-TV.
Prior to SBS Television Matt spent 20 years in France running his own production and distribution company and heading international acquisitions for the distribution arm of the public broadcaster France Television.

Mark has 16 years media experience, having worked his way up as Media Manager to CEO of Australia’s second largest network. His vast experience spans a wealth of categories including: FMCG, Retail, Fast Food, Consumer Electronics and Automobiles.
Before his appointment as OMD Melbourne’s Managing Director, Mark headed up the Melbourne operation of Mediaedge:cia. Amongst the key clients who gained profit from Mark’s progressive and versatile set of skills were Dunlop, Goodyear, Tag Heuer and Sony Ericsson.
In January 2004 Mark moved across to run OMD Melbourne. Over 2 ½ years he increased the business nearly 3 fold, with staff alone increasing from 9 to 51.
In October 2006 Mark took the helm of OMD Australia. Under his stewardship the agency has continued its focus on people and product. The agency has won multiple awards including a record seven awards at Australia’s MFA Awards 2008, B&T Employer of the Year 2008 and the prestigious AdNews Media Network of the Year 2008.

Roger Colman has been one of Australia’s longest leading media analysts and founding partner of ASX member firm CCZ Equities.
As a corporate advisor he has advised or completed corporate transactions with over 15 different clients in the media sector, ranging from John Fairfax down to Ace Radio.
Roger as lived the sector, having been a significant partner in some small radio and regional newspaper businesses. In 2005, he was a producer of the TEN Network TV show 2005 “Drive TV”, and now is a partner in Caradvice.com.au , one of Australia’s top 10 auto editorial sites. He has voluntarily assisted a number of parliamentarians in regards to media regulation.
As an Olympian, he represented Australia at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games in Tornado Catamarans. Roger enjoys tennis, sailing, swimming and surfing.

Kim has worked in the Australian and international film and television industry as a producer, investment manager and distributor. From 1999, as Chief Executive of the Australian Film Commission, Kim was responsible for overhauling its development programs, expanding its screen culture programs and ensuring the agency’s and industry’s engagement with digital and online technology, production and distribution.
As CEO Kim led the policy debate around Australian content on television and was a spokesperson for the industry and a key advisor to government on the audio visual industries during negotiations on the Aust/US Free Trade Agreement.
Since joining the ABC as Director of TV in 2006 Kim has made a major contribution to the policy debate around Australian content and the role of the public broadcaster in the digital era as well as effecting significant reform within the TV Division in these areas.
In 2007 Kim was awarded an OAM for service to the film and television industry in policy, in assistance to Indigenous producers and in the promotion of emerging visual technology.
Kim Dalton is also Chair of Freeview. Freeview is a major initiative on the part of all key Australian television broadcast networks - ABC, Seven, Nine, Ten, SBS and the regional broadcasters Prime, WIN and Southern Cross to promote the take up of ditigal.

Since being in Australia, Geraint has worked as Chief Operating Officer of APN Outdoor and CEO of Horizon Media. In 2007, Geraint was appointed the Chief Operating Officer at Austereo working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver the business strategy, lead major projects and be an integral part of Austereo's future as it continues to develop its integrated multi-platform media and entertainment business.

His has extensive contacts with leading broadcasters and has helped develop numerous emerging technology platforms for media. Lee has a B.A. from Hillsdale College.

Having held numerous sales and management positions in radio and television at Austereo, DMG Radio and WIN Television, Paul has spent the majority of this time in the online advertising industry, most recently as National Sales Director of NEWS Digital Media.
Before becoming NDM’s Sales Director, he was previously News Limited’s head of integration, and has also held sales and management roles at Ninemsn, including representing ninemsn on PBL One, PBL’s first foray into integration 10 years ago.
Paul was appointed CEO of IAB Australia in July 2008.

Guy Gadney is CEO of The Project Factory and current national president of AIMIA – The Australian Interactive Media Industry Association
Guy has 16 years direct experience in content based projects across multiple platforms. Guy was most recently General Manager of Digital Services for Channel Nine and ACP Magazines, and prior to that was director of Content Production for Telstra BigPond, overseeing the broadband and narrowband sites for AFL, V8 Supercars, GameArena, Music Downloads. He joined BigPond after leading and completing the delivery of the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and Games channels for the launch of FOXTEL Digital.
Guy began working in new media in the early nineties and has produced projects for laserdisc, CD-ROM, internet, multiplayer games and interactive TV. He was Head of Multimedia for Penguin Books UK in the mid-nineties before going on to produce large-scale websites for the band Oasis, the Guardian newspaper's Football and Cricket sites, and the FoxKids European internet rollouts.
After leading the broadband and interactive TV production for BBC Worldwide, Guy produced the online massively multiplayer game Diaspora which pitted thousands of online players against each other simultaneously, and the development of 3D games engines for PC and Playstation. The Diaspora technology was also used as a basis for a multiplayer quiz engine which was used by Sky, NME, Eurosport, Wisden, and a number of other movie, TV and sports websites. His interactive TV work during this time included leading the production of the four interactive TV portals for Fish4.co.uk, and two EPGs for UK cable TV and the Radio Times.

Gerry Gouy is the New York-based Global Senior Business Development Director for MTV Networks International, the world's largest television network. Gerry joined MTV Networks in 2006 after six years of driving content partnerships in TV, Music, Sports & Gaming at 3Mobile in Asia & Europe. Prior to that he worked as General Manager of ZDNet Australia, and held a number of senior roles at AltaVista, Yellow Pages & LookSmart, going back to the dawn of the Web in the mid 1990s.

Patty is the Managing Director of Digital Chameleon (formerly Vanishing Point Media), which provides digital media training and education to media owners, marketers, and agencies. Patty has over twenty years of experience (both in Australia and overseas), in the publishing and media agency businesses and has been involved with interactive advertising since it began in the early 1990’s.
Over the years, Patty's roles have ranged from media strategist/planner/buyer for clients including AOL, to advertising operations manager on the launch of Ziff-Davis sites ZDNet and NetBuyer, as well as the AT&T Business Network in the U.S. After three years as Vice President at Carat in Boston, she relocated to Sydney in 2000, and was responsible for launching Carat Interactive Australia, which she grew and managed for four years as National Director. Patty was the founding General Manager of the Australian Chapter of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) from its launch in 2005, until 2008.
Patty served as Judging Chairperson for the 2005 Internet Awards, chairing the 2007 and 2008 IAB Interactive Advertising Awards, and has been included as one of the “40 Biggest Players of Australia’s Digital Age” by B&T magazine.

Having worked in Advertising and Marketing on both the client and agency side for 10 years, Rob joined BSkyB as Client Sales Manager in September 1997.
He became Controller of Interactive Airtime Sales in September 2000, with the responsibility for creating and launching Sky’s ground-breaking interactive TV advertising services. Rob was responsible for assembling an interactive sales team from scratch and developing and implementing pioneering sales, pricing, and marketing strategies for this new service.
Rob was promoted to Head of Interactive Services for Sky Media in August 2003 with the additional remit of developing commercial models across all Sky’s digital media offerings.
In October 2006 Rob joined MCn in Sydney, the multi channel sales house for the Foxtel and Austar subscription TV platforms. He was appointed Head of MCn Connect, the newly formed department responsible for the strategic development and sales of all the new digital media on these platforms, including interactive advertising, online, mobile, VOD and IPTV.
Established in 1996, MCn is a joint venture between FOXTEL, AUSTAR and a number of the key subscription television channels. MCn is responsible for the advertising interests of over 30 national channels and is the only Australian television network to provide digital interactive advertising. He is driving the broadcaster's growth in digital media, overseeing Austereo's online operations, the Research team and is also in charge of the company's digital radio plans.

Jack is the Chief Executive Officer of Fairfax Digital, the online division of Fairfax Media. Fairfax Digital is responsible for Australia’s leading online news sites, including the smh.com.au, theage.com.au, brisbanetimes.com.au and WAtoday.com.au as well as leading classified sites in recruitment, automotive and real estate. Fairfax Digital sites attract over 16 million unique viewers per month world wide.
Prior to his current position, Jack was COO and Representative Director of Jupiter Programming Company, a Tokyo based joint venture between Liberty Media and Sumitomo Corporation. Jupiter owns and operates 16 pay TV channels which reach over 24 million viewers.
Prior to Jupiter, Jack was CEO of the Premium Movie Partnership which creates and distributes Australia’s leading Pay TV movie channels, Showtime and Showtime Greats. Previous to that, Jack was CEO of TelstraSaturn, an integrated telephone, Pay TV and broadband company in New Zealand.

Mark McDonnell is Senior Analyst, Telecommunications, Media and Technology at BBY Limited. His career encompasses roles as a business analyst, government policy adviser, management consultant and company director prior to his work at BBY in investment banking and stockbroking.
In the 1980s Mark worked in both policy and regulatory roles for the Australian government and as a business analyst for the then newly created satellite communications company, Aussat. Throughout the 1990s he gained considerable business experience as a management consultant, working for more than a dozen major manufacturing, service and banking enterprises in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, North America and Asia. He was also the founding CEO of ASTRA, the pay television industry association.
Mark has a Master’s degree in Applied Finance. He is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Member of the Economics Society.
Other current roles include:
• Chairman of the External Advisory Committee to the Department of Government and International Relations at the University of Sydney, and

Previously, Jeff was a marketing manager at Apple Computer, a business development manager for a wireless payment startup in Singapore and a management consultant for Price Waterhouse in United States and in Europe. Jeff holds BA from Taylor University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Harold Mitchell is Executive Chairman of Mitchell Communication Group Limited. In 1976 he started the company that is now the largest media agency in Australia. Australia’s largest planner and buyer of media including internet advertising through emitch, and owner of Stadia Media, Australia’s largest sports ground advertising contractor.
Board Member of Opera Australia Council, Vice-Chairman CARE Australia Corporate Council, Honorary Councillor ABAF, Chairman of ThoroughVision. Chairman of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Director of Tennis Australia. Former President of the Museums Board of Victoria; Former Chairman National Gallery Australia and former President of Melbourne International Festival of Arts.
In December 2000 he launched the Harold Mitchell Foundation. This is a philanthropic foundation to distribute funds between Health and the Arts. In December 2002 Deakin University conferred on him an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws. In 2003 he delivered the Andrew Olle Memorial Lecture on Media.
In January 2004 he was awarded the Officer of the Order of Australia for his services as a benefactor and fundraiser in support of artistic and cultural endeavour.
On 28 July 2005, he was awarded the Richard Pratt Business Leader Award given by the Australian Business Arts Foundation in recognition of excellence in arts leadership.

Bryan Neider is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the EA Games Label with responsibility for overseeing the management of 12 independent game studios around the globe.* As COO of the EA Games Label, Mr. Neider is responsible for a wide range of operational initiatives and business support including managing the Games Label product portfolio, development planning and financial planning reporting. Working with the studio General Managers and their management teams, Mr. Neider is also driving operational and process change designed to support the Label focus on delivering quality, predictability and profitability.
Mr. Neider brings 19 years of experience within EA to the EA Games Label having served in a variety of roles including Business Development, EA Partners, Corporate Finance, CFO and COO for EA.com, CFO of WW Studios and beginning in the summer of 2007, CFO of the Games Label.
The EA Games Label is a global operation with more than 2,500 employees. The EA Games Label is also home to the EA Partners business that includes strategic partnerships with award-winning studios such as Valve, Epic, Double Fine, id/Fountainhead Entertainment and Harmonix/MTV to name a few.
Mr. Neider joined Electronic Arts in 1989 and held several senior positions in finance, operations, and corporate development. Prior to joining EA, he served at the accounting firm of Touche Ross, at Data East USA and Microprose/Spectrum-Holobyte.
Mr. Neider earned his BA Degree in History from Santa Clara University and his Masters of Business Administration from California State Hayward. Mr. Mr. Neider serves on several not-for-profit boards including Community Gatepath, an organization that serves adults and children with special needs, he is a member of the advisory Board for the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University and he was founding board member of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University. Mr. Neider lives in Menlo Park with his wife and 4 children.

A 20-year veteran of Australia’s broadcast community, Adrianne Pecotic has dedicated her career to protecting copyright to help build and sustain a globally viable creative industry in Australia. Since assuming her current role as Executive Director of the Australian Federation Against Copyright Theft (AFACT) in 2004, Adrianne has taken a balanced approach facing the issue of digital piracy by driving positive, proactive education and enforcement campaigns, including “Copyright or Copywrong,” the first such initiative undertaken with Australian schools.
Her passion for preserving Australia’s films and television programmes’ “localness” and creative control while making them available to international audiences stems from a deep understanding of the inherent risks involved in making them gleaned during a long-standing career at Grundy Television (FreemantleMedia Group). There, she worked on most every facet of the business and learned some of the "golden rules" of from the likes of Reg Grundy and others. This deep understanding of the entertainment business guides and informs her work in the development and application of intellectual property legislation in the “new media”/digital age.
In her capacity as an experienced business woman, entertainment lawyer and advocate, Adrianne spent six years as Television Division Councillor for the Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA), representing the industry at Senate, Productivity Commission and Australian Broadcasting Authority hearings. For her significant achievements, she was amongst the first recipients of the SPAA Maura Fay Award for Services to the Industry in 2004.
Adrianne also is committed to advancing women’s contributions to the industry and was active in “Women Working in Television,” a partnership between the Australian Film Commission (AFC) and the Australian television industry designed to provide career development, mentoring and networking opportunities. As part of that, she provided insights for the AFC’s report Visions of Balance, Jugging Family with Work in Television, published in 2001.

Andy Townend is Deputy Secretary in the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy and the Executive Director of the Australian Government’s Digital Switchover Taskforce. He has responsibility for coordinating and overseeing Australia’s transition to digital television. Andy brings a wealth of knowledge to this area particularly from his previous role as the Chief Operating Officer of Digital UK, the body coordinating the switchover in the United Kingdom.
Before taking up his role with Digital UK he was Controller of Distribution at the British Broadcasting Corporation, where he was responsible for ensuring the delivery of all the BBC’s television, radio and interactive services to licence fee payers, developing the BBC’s strategy for switchover and leading the cross industry group that established Digital UK in April 2005. He was a key member of the BBC team which launched Freeview in October 2002 and renegotiated the BBC’s contracts with BSkyB to pave the way for the launch of Freesat. He has chaired The Digital Network, a UK organisation set up to coordinate the Digital Terrestrial Television platform and represented the BBC as a member of Council of the Digital Television Group during the development of the United Kingdom Government’s Digital Television Action Plan.
