Vedat Akgiray has graduated from the Boğaziçi University in 1980, after finishing high school at Robert College of Istanbul. He has obtained MA, MBA degrees and also PhD degree in finance at Syracuse University in the US. Having held several posts at numerous universities both in the US and in Turkey, he has published and presented more than 100 articles on various international academic platforms. He has tutored and advised many students at both doctorate and also master degree levels. Besides his academic role, he has also provided consultancy services to various enterprises in the subjects of finance and information technology.
Since 1990, he has held his academic position at Boğaziçi University, where he was promoted to full professorship in 2000. He is the founder of the masters program in Financial Engineering, where he has served as the chairman during the period 2002-2009. In March of 2009, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Capital Markets Board of Turkey and is currently employed in this position.
Vedat Akgiray was born in Istanbul in 1958. He is married with three children. He is a former amateur football player and wrestler, and proud to be a Galatasaray fan.

Sinan Akıman began his career in GarantiBank 's Treasury Department in 1993, where he worked as a dealer in Turkish lira, fixed income, and FX markets until late 1997. In November of that year he became Treasurer of GarantiBank responsible for risk management, sales, and trading , and in 2000 he was appointed Treasurer and Coordinator responsible for Treasury and Treasury Marketing units. In 2007 Mr Akıman has been appointed as assistant general manager of Garanti Asset Management responsible for strategy, alternative investments, and research.
Garanti Asset Management has been to be pioneering and leading company in the development of the asset management market in increasing public awareness of that market. Founded in June 1997 as the first asset management company in Turkey, Garanti Asset Management is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Garanti Bank. Garanti Asset Management serves investors in the management of their mutual funds, pension funds, private portfolio management, and alternative Investments.
Garanti Asset Management manages the 13 mutual funds of GarantiBank, the 3 mutual funds of Garanti Securities, the 10 pension funds of Garanti Pension and Life, and the property portfolio of Garanti Real Estate Investment Trust. The company also supplies asset management services for the portfolios of a distinguished selection of institutional and individual clients.
As of end-2007, the total value of all the assets under GAM was USD 4.1 billion.

Namik Aksel is the Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Asset Management, Turkey. Based in Istanbul, Namik is responsible for the whole range of asset management activities of HSBC in Turkey where he oversees more than USD 1 billion of funds. He joined HSBC Asset Management in 2004 and has been working in the financial industry since 1993.
Namık has been involved with asset management for the last six years of his career. He started at Treasury of Yapi Kredi Bank in 1993, worked at foreign exchange, money markets and fixed income divisions from 1993 to 1999 and as head of fixed income from1999 to 2003. Before joining HSBC Asset Management, Namik worked for Yapi Kredi Asset Management-one of the leading asset management companies from 2003 to 2004 as assistant general manager responsible for the management of more than USD 2 billions of assets.
Namik holds a BA in Business Administration from Bogazici University and is a member of the Turkish Institutional Investment Managers Association.

As the Chief Investment Officer of Yapı Kredi Asset Management, Mr. Alpay is responsible for leading and managing the Company's whole investment process and allocation of portfolios of funds and discrete mandates in line with outcomes of investment committee meetings. He has been with Yapı Kredi Asset Management since 2002. Prior to his current position, Mr. Alpay was the head of Equity Funds, played active roles in the establishment of Portfolio Advisory Service, Allianz Pension Funds, and the Company’s investment portal, whereas he led the Company's rating process, which resulted in M2+, the highest score in the Turkish Asset Management Industry, by Fitch. His career includes three years of experience in research and 13 years asset management totaling 16 years in credible financial institutions. He received BA degree in Statistics from Mimar Sinan University (1992) and a candidate for a MBA degree in Accounting and Financial Control from Istanbul University.

Mr. Arıkan was born in 1965 Uşak. In 1987, he graduated from the Hacettepe University Economics and Administrative Sciences Department. He attended the Capital Markets Certificate Program at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, between 1997-1998.
Between 1989 and 2001, he worked as an Expert at the Capital Markets Board of Turkey. Starting from 2001, he pursued his career at the Association of Capital Market Intermediary Institutions of Turkey. Since 2004, Mr. Arikan has been the Secretary General of the Association.
Mr. Arikan served as the Member of Board of Central Registry Agency Inc. between 2004 and 2006. Since 2006, he is a Member of the Capital Markets Sector Assembly at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and since 2004 he serves as the Member of the Tax Council of Turkey.

Zeynep Aslan is responsible for administration, communications and global marketing. With over 12 years of Turkish capital markets and fund management experience, including positions with T.C. Ziraat Bank and Is Asset Management she managed nearly USD3 billion of funds in mostly fixed income securities before undertaking her new post. She was the member of the team, responsible for investment strategy, investment performance, and asset allocation of all Is Bank’s mutual funds totalling USD3.5 billion. Ms Aslan earned her B.A. in Statistics from Middle East Technical University, Ankara. She also earned an MSc in Finance from ICMA Centre – The Business School for Financial Markets, The University of Reading, UK. She worked on a project at the ICMA Centre, focused on “Pricing Barrier Options with the use of Monte Carlo Simulations”.

Raul started his banking career at the beginning of the 1990s as the founder of Morgan Stanley’s Emerging Markets Equities business in Europe, launching initially the Latin American equities effort. Under his leadership, the team expanded to include coverage of Turkey, Greece, South Africa, Central Europe and Russia. Raul joined Lehman Brothers at the beginning of 1997 to manage the European Equity Research team. During his years in the role, Raul helped to grow the division from 50 professionals to more than 220, moving the firm’s ranking in the critically important Institutional Investor polls from 12th place to 4th, just behind the three much larger US bulge-bracket banks. In 2001, Raul was asked take on a broader role, that of Director of Lehman Brothers’ European Wealth and Asset Management Division. In his new position, Raul doubled the size of the division, developing several new business lines including a mid-sized institutional equities business, a fixed income sales effort, and an innovative hedge-fund seeding program. Raul joined NCB Capital in January of 2008 as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer, where he helps to manage the Firm’s three divisions: Brokerage, Investment Banking, and Wealth and Asset Management. He holds a BA from Tulane University in New Orleans and an MBA from Westminster University in London.

Gökhan Bilen started his career at Turkish Capital Markets Board in Ankara in 1990. Halim Çun is presently the General Manager of Gedik Asset Management and member of the board of Marbas Investment Fund, both of which are affiliates of Gedik Investment Securities. Halim Çun started his career at Dünya Newspaper, as the manager of Foreign News Department in 1984. Later, he continued his career in the financial sector and joined Dışbank (later named Fortisbank) as senior analyst. He joined Sabanci Holding - one of Turkey’s largest conglomerates - in 1987 and worked in the Planning and Investments Department and participated in various projects and held several positions. In 1998 he became the founding general manager of Ak Investment Fund. In 2000 he founded Ak Asset Management , which is an affiliate of Akbank where he worked as General Manager for six years. In 2006, when he left the Company, Ak Asset Management was the second biggest company of the sector focused on institutional investors with total assets under management of TRY 4 billion. Mr. Erkan was promoted at the ISE as Executive Vice Chairman in 1995.

Mendi has started working in Finansbank Netherlands as Executive Vice President, Head of Consumer Banking in July 2001 to be responsible from consumer banking activities of Holland, Germany and Belgium and he became Assistant General Manager in Finansbank Turkey in July 2003 and be responsible from all consumer banking activities until August 2007.
He joined Fortis as Head of Fortis Turkey Retail Banking and Executive Vice President in August 2007. Mr Mendi is married and has two children. He is fluent in English and French.

Ari, a Finnish national, is a founding partner of the company, and manages company’s Emerging Europe focused mutual fund business. He is also a fund manager of Taaleritehdas Lydian lion equity fund, UCITS compliant mutual fund focusing on Turkey (Bloomberg ticker TTLLEAE FH). Previously Ari was heading Mandatum’s Eastern European investments business and led a multi-national team with assets under management of $1,200 million, and also established and successfully managed Turkish equity fund. Mandatum as a part of Sampo Bank group was acquired by Danske Bank in 2007 when Danske paid more than €4 bn in cash for that business.
All in all Ari has some 15 years experience in the financial industry, working as an emerging and developed market fund manager, sell-side analyst, corporate finance analyst, and private equity investor. He has MSc (Econ.) degree with honors from Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration and has also studied finance at Indiana University (Bloomington, USA). In order to build up a deep fundamental understanding of investment targets he has personally visited some 120 Istanbul Stock Exchange listed companies and still continues to travel regularly in Turkey to visit companies.
Taaleritehdas is a fully independent, Finnish private bank established in 2007. The group has about 70 employees in five branch offices. In a challenging market environment Taaleritehdas has successfully attracted clients and in less than two years since the establishment has now $1,2 bn assets under management. Kubilay Ozalp is Head of Alternative Investments at Yapi Kredi Asset Management. He started his career in Demirbank in 1996 at the Treasury Marketing Unit, and switched to Fixed Income Desk as a Senior Trader in 1999. He worked at Schonfeld Securities in New York and Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi before joining Yapi Kredi Asset Management in 2004, where he co-manages Yapi Kredi and Allianz Pension Funds that are above 1.1 billion USD totally in size as of September, 2009. As the Head of Alternative Investments he achieved to launch the first and the biggest Guaranteed Fund in Turkish markets. Kubilay has a BS degree in Engineering Management from Istanbul Technical University (1996) and an MBA on Finance and Investments from Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, City University of New York (2003).

Tarkan Ozkan is presently Assistant General Manager and Group Head of Marketing and Sales Management of Yapi Kredi Asset Management.
Tarkan Ozkan started his career in Turkiye Is Bankasi (Isbank) in Istanbul, as a Dealer in Treasury, in 1993. Tarkan Ozkan joined Koc Financial Services in 1997 as Division Manager of Treasury Fixed Income Group in Kocbank and in 2003 he continued the post as Head of Marketing and Sales Support in Koc Portfoy Yonetimi (Koc Asset Management). In 2006, he became Group Head of Sales and Marketing Unit. Tarkan Ozkan continues his current position since March, 2007.
Tarkan Ozkan has a BS degree in Industrial Engineering at Bilkent University (1993) and an Executive MBA at Koc University (2002).

Robert Parker is Vice Chairman of Asset Management at Credit Suisse. He is a Member of Credit Suisse’s Investment Committee. He also has responsibility globally for the management and development of new business and client relationships for Credit Suisse’s Asset Management business.
Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 1982, Robert spent six years at N M Rothschild & Sons working in the foreign exchange/fixed income investment operation. He started his career at Lloyds Bank International in France in Corporate Finance.
Robert was one of the founding members of CSFB Investment Management (CSFBIM). From 1982 until 1994 he led and developed CSFBIM's foreign exchange and fixed income business. In 1994, he became Co-Chairman of CSFBIM and in 1995 he was responsible for integrating the Asset Management operations of Credit Suisse and CSFB. From 1995 until 1998, he was Chief Executive of CSAM's Asset Management business in London. In 1998 he was appointed Vice Chairman of the Asset Management Business.
Robert is a member of the Advisory Boards of the European Institute and Funds Europe and is a member of the Advisory Council of the UK CFA Society. He is also Chairman of the Asset Management Committee of the International Capital Markets Association. In addition, he is on the Development Committees of St John’s College Cambridge and King’s College School.
Robert received his B.A and M.A. in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

Rehan Pathan is the Head of International Distribution for Asset Management at NCB Capital. His responsibilities include leading NCBC's AM initiative to expand distribution capabilities and take the Al Ahli range of funds global.
Rehan joined NCB Capital in September 2008 after 6 years with Deutsche Bank, first in Bahrain and then in Dubai. In his last role with DB, Rehan was with Deutsche Asset Management, based out of the DIFC, Dubai where he was Vice President, DWS Sales and Distribution for the MENA region. In this role he helped build and develop the fund business for DB Asset Management across multiple regional and international distribution channels. One of his key areas of focus was the distribution of the DWS NOOR range of Sharia compliant funds.
Prior to his role with the asset management group, Rehan worked for Deutsche Bank’s Global Transaction Banking division, where he managed Institutional Sales, again in the MENA region, including Pakistan.
He began his career in 1997 with ABN AMRO, Bahrain, working in the Private Banking and Corporate Banking Divisions.
Rehan is a graduate of the University of Bahrain with a Bsc. in Business Administration. He is currently completing an Executive MBA in Islamic Finance from Cass Business School of City University, London.

Dr. Tevfik served at Is Bank Capital Markets Department as an assistant manager and a group manager in between 1991-2000. Taliye Yesilurdu has started working in the Capital Markets Board of Turkey as an associate specialist in 1995. She is presently working as a senior specialist in the Institutional Investors Department (in Istanbul Office) and her main areas of expertise are investment funds, venture capital investment trusts/funds, pension funds and asset management companies. She was involved in the EU Twinning Project with BaFin, the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority of Germany, aimed at making Turkish legislation in compliance with European Union Capital Markets’ Standards and Directives. She has various reports on hedge funds and has drafted legislation for the establishment of hedge funds in Turkey. She is currently attending the MBA program at Marmara University and preparing a thesis on transformation of Turkish asset management industry.

Gülsevin Yılmaz has been the Chief Executive Officer of Yapı Kredi Asset Management since April, 2009.
Gülsevin Yılmaz began her career in 1984. In 1987, she joined Koç-American Bank as Deputy Manager in Capital Markets Group. Mrs. Yılmaz continued her career in Koçbank and held several executive positions between 1989-2006. She served as the Group Head of Sales of Private Banking in Yapı Kredi Bank between 2006-2009. Gülsevin Yılmaz has a BA from the Boğaziçi Üniversitesi, Faculty of Economy.
As one of the leading institutions in the Turkish Asset Management Sector, Yapı Kredi Asset Management manages 23 mutual funds, 22 private pension funds, and discretionary portfolios for institutions and high net worth individuals (HNWIs).
