 Mrs. Deb Daly,
CEO Gold Coast Institute of Tafe, Australia Deb Daly is Chief Executive Officer of the Gold Coast Institute of TAFE, an institution with a state-wide reputation for outstanding performance.
Deb has extensive experience in both the public service and in education and training. Deb commenced her Queensland Public Service career in 1990 with Education Queensland where she held a wide range of middle and senior management positions before moving to TAFE Queensland as Director, Corporate Services at the Gold Coast Institute of TAFE at the start of 1997. Deb was originally appointed to her current role of CEO in 2001. She served as chair of TAFE Directors Queensland in 2005 and is currently the Chair of the Board of TAFE Directors Australia.
Deb has a background and degree in business management and has shown a strong commitment to vocational education and training at the institute and corporate level. Under her leadership, Gold Coast Institute of TAFE has consolidated its reputation as a business that continues to strive and achieve excellence, claiming numerous awards and accolades including:
• Queensland’s Large Trainer of the Year 2001 and 2007,
• Finalist as Australia’s Large Training Provider of the Year 2007
• Premier’s Award for Excellence in 2002.
Deb has been recognised with a number of personal awards including an Australia Day award for services within the public sector, and two Leadership awards for outstanding achievement within her Department.
