2009 Community Development Initiative Award
The Community Development Initiative Award aims to showcase specific initiatives and activities undertaken by mining companies operating in Asia over the last year and the recent roles they have played in connecting with and developing local communities.
In submitting information for this category, please provide full details of any 1 specific community development project/ initiative implemented between June 2007 and December 2008.
The companies who apply for this award will be promoted transparently on the awards website and a distinguished international panel of judges will decide on the best initiative based on the following information to be submitted:
- Details on how the particular initiative or activity is in line with the company’s overall community relations strategy and an explanation of the decision making process resulting in the initiative
- The specific aims of the initiative
- An assessment of the economic value/ benefits of the initiative
- At least 1 beneficiary testimony
- Full details on the specific initiative / activity including:
The number of participants and who they are
The number of beneficiaries and who they are
A list of all major stakeholders and organisers
Access (contact details to be provided) to at least 1 individual beneficiary
The value of the financial investment, if any, made by the company for the initiative/ activity
