Mr Sam Nelson,

Sam's previous position was as Executive Officer - Corporate Strategy for a Federal Government agency, where his responsibilities included strategic planning and the development of the National Climate Change Research Strategy for Primary Industries. He has held a range of positions in government organisations in areas related to policy and research investment in climate science, natural resource management, the grains industry and fishing industry. Sam has also worked in New Zealand's bureaucracy on policies to support the commercialisation of research, as well as in research funding. Sam holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science degree from the University of Adelaide and a PhD in Soil Science from La Trobe University, Melbourne.
