Hedge Funds World Zürich 2008 – Leading the way for the world’s most sophisticated investors!
The world is not such a big place for the savvy investor. Therefore when economic turmoil occurs in the Far East, investors in Europe need to know the specific impact in the West. This years Hedge Funds World Zurich is set to not only discuss the regional issues affecting end-investors but also the changing face of global banking, inter-regional dynamics, and an assessment of global economics.
The program has been based on a 6 month research project undertaken by Terrapinn’s Financial Markets team with pension funds, insurance companies, endowment funds, and family offices. 120 end-investors took part in the research. As a snapshot of the research, investors stated that in 2008 they felt the top five issues they were facing were:
- Understanding the market cycle and how to position their global investment strategy in light of this knowledge
- Assessing the stability of the world economy and its financial markets
- If China and India were the new drivers of global economic trends
- Will global volatility remain high in 2008
- and last but certainly not least, understanding the exact cause of the credit crunch and the progression through the financial system
