Wendy Craik

Dr Craik took up her position as Chief Executive of the Murray-Darling Basin Commission (MDBC) in August 2004.
Prior to this Wendy was President of the National Competition Council, Chair of the Australian Fisheries Management Authority and Chair of the National Rural Advisory Council. Other former positions include Chief Executive Officer of Earth Sanctuaries Ltd, a publicly listed company specialising in conservation and eco tourism, Executive Director of the National Farmers Federation, and Executive Officer of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. She has also worked as a consultant for AcilTasman Consulting.

Graham Dooley

Graham Dooley joined United Utilities Australia in 1991 as Managing Director. In this role he manages United Utilities’ business in Australia as well as supporting the company’s projects in Asia.
Before this, Graham worked for the Sydney Water Board and for two other large Australian companies. At the Sydney Water Board, he filled several senior management roles including managing all aspects of Sydney Water’s 31 sewage treatment plants.
Graham is currently President of the SA Branch of the Australian Water Association and sits on the Board of Water Industry Alliance and IPA, the peak body in Australia for infrastructure. He is also a member of the National Water Commission’s Urban Water Advisory Group.

Murray Goddard

Murray joined the water industry in 1990 and upon the establishment of South East Water in 1995 was appointed General Manager of Sales and Marketing. In 2001 Murray was appointed General Manager of Customer Service and his responsibilities include the provision of a comprehensive range of services to all segments of our customer base, including residential and commercial customers and the property development industry. His team manages all new connections (water, sewerage, recycled water), metering, billing, credit management functions, contracts for new developments, and the customer call centre.
In 2006 Murray spent some time heading up the Corporate Strategy Group before returning to the Customer Service Group in 2007.

Peter Harris joined DSE as Secretary in November 2006 from the Department of Primary Industries, where he was Secretary from August 2004.
In 2001 Peter was appointed to the position of Vice President, Government and International Affairs with the Air New Zealand / Ansett Group.
Peter returned to the Public Sector, and moved to Melbourne, with the Victorian Department of Infrastructure as Director, Public Transport in November 2002.

Michael Malouf is the new Managing Director of Barwon Water.
Prior to his appointment Mr Malouf held the dual roles of General Manager - Property and General Manager - Leasing at Pratt Holdings.
For the past 13 years, Mr Malouf has held Chief Executive positions at some of Victoria’s largest municipalities including Melbourne City Council, the City of Greater Geelong, City of Wyndham and City of Melton. More recently Mr Malouf was the Chief Executive of the Carlton Football Club.

Ken Matthews

Matthews is the Chairman and Chief Executive of the National Water Commission. Mr Matthews was previously the Secretary of the Department of Transport and Regional Services and the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
Mr Matthews’ academic background is in economics, majoring in government (B.Ec. University of Sydney, 1974). Mr Matthews is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration and the Australian Institute of Management.
Mr Matthews received a Centenary Medal in 2001 for services to public administration and was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 2005.

Bill is an Australian leader in Natural Resource Management and community participation. Bill is the CEO of the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority a position he has held since 1997. He was also the CEO of the CMA’s predecessor body the Goulburn Broken Catchment and Land Protection Board.
Bill has worked in catchment management in the Goulburn Broken catchment for almost 20 years.

Paul Perkins, adjunct professor at the Australian National University, is a national leader in public sector reform and the emerging sustainable development movement.
He is presently:
• Chairman of the National Environmental Education Council (NEEC),
• Independent Chairman of the Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Environmental Remediation (CRC CARE),
• Facilitator of a national Terrestrial Ecosystems Research Infrastructure Strategy
• Member of the Australian Government’s Business Roundtable on Sustainability,
• Chairman of the Barton Group fostering Environment Industry Development, and
• Deputy Chairman, Perpetual Water Pty Ltd, a water recycling technology start-up.
He was project director of the National Water Industry Roadmap study and provides advice to governments on science-policy-operations integration focussed on environment and natural resource management, industry development and sustainability strategies.
