Andrew Adams
Chief Executive Officer
Bass Strait Oil

Andrew Adams has over 27 years experience in the petroleum exploration industry ranging across both technical and commercial aspects of the business. He started his professional career as a geophysicist with Amoco Canada.  In 1982 he moved to Australia with Santos Ltd where he lead exploration and development teams, with areas of responsibility across most major basins in Australia, as well as areas of Southeast Asia. In conjunction with his MBA university studies in the early 1990s he transferred to Santos’ planning department and became involved in budgeting, planning and commercial projects. 

Mr Adams also has significant small company experience having worked for several years on acquisitions and project finance as Commercial Manager with Cue Energy Resources Ltd.   This role included projects located in Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Since 2001 he has worked with Bass Strait Oil Company Ltd combining a wide ranging commercial role with responsibility for the conduct of joint venture operations. 

Mr Adams was appointed Managing Director of Bass Strait Oil Company in July 2006.

He has been the member for the Thomastown electorate since 1990.

Lane has over twenty years of international experience in the energy industries in Australia, Asia, the UK and New Zealand.  Lane has worked in utilities regulation, managed the performance of electricity and gas operating and maintenance alliance contracts, and led engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects in the oil and gas, and petrochemical industries.

Gerald Doucet is Secretary General of the World Energy Council based in London, England.  This UN-accredited organisation is 80 years old and is the only global, non-governmental, multi-energy, industry-focussed body active in over 95 countries.
 
He has had a varied career in Canadian government service, industry organisations and international relations as an economist, consultant and diplomat.    From 1982-1987 he was Senior Vice President of the Retail Council of Canada and served as Agent General for Ontario in Europe from 1988-1992 when he became the founding President of the Europe-Canada Development Association.  From 1994-1998 he was President and CEO of the Canadian Gas Association and a Director of Gas Technology Canada.

Previously, Darryl was General Manager of Energy Trading at Southern Hydro where he was instrumental in the pioneering of weather risk management products in Australia.
Between times, he has run his own advisory business, Flukes Value Management, focussing on value creation through trading and risk management in the energy industry.

John has provided solutions to energy industry problems for more than 25 years in the areas of infrastructure planning, asset management and control system design and testing.  As a manager during the early 1990s, with the transmission company in Victoria PowerNet, he was involved in the reform process and the formation of the new industry in Victoria as well as being involved in the committee work for the rules for the National Electricity Market.  John moved to the Victorian Power Exchange (VPX) in 1997 and VENCorp in 1999.  In VENCorp John has been responsible for energy infrastructure planning and more recently developing and implementing a new gas market within Victoria which was successfully implemented on the 1 February 2007.

George Maltabarow has had senior roles within the energy industry, as well as within the central agencies of government.  This has encompassed planning and development of power systems, policy development and regulation.  In utility roles, his career has spanned all sectors of the electricity industry – ie generation, transmission and distribution, together with an assignment at Sydney Water. As an Executive Director of the NSW Treasury, he was responsible for managing the NSW Government’s ongoing program of microeconomic reform, including development of a comprehensive financial policy framework for all Government owned businesses, as well as implementing structural and market reforms for the electricity industry.

Kim McGrath is an internationally experienced corporate finance and investment banking lawyer specialising in corporate strategy.  He is the Managing Director of Delta Corporate Finance Pty Limited, a specialist advisory group based in Sydney, and has his own personal corporate and commercial legal practice in Australia and the UK.
His prior roles in Australia have included prime legal positions with Comalco and ICL,  as General Counsel and Company Secretary of Bank of America Australia and the merchant bank BA Australia, as General Counsel with Bell Resources responsible for negotiating international lines of finance, business acquisitions and strategy – including  that involving Bass Strait and Weeks Petroleum – and later being involved with corporate plays as General Manager - Strategy and Planning with Industrial Equity.

Mr Mclndoe has been Managing Director of TRUenergy since early 2006. He is also a member of CLP Holdings' Finance and General Committee.
Until mid 2006, Mr McIndoe was responsible for the development and management of the CLP Group's international electricity business in the Asia Pacific region.  Under his management, CLP has become the largest international investor in the Australian, Chinese, Indian and Thai energy sectors, and is currently the largest international IPP company in the Asia Pacific region.  Mr McIndoe was also responsible for the establishment of OneEnergy, CLP’s 50:50 joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan, which focuses on the development of power projects in South East Asia.

Karen is a Director of the Victorian Energy Networks Corporation (VENCorp), a Director of the Energy and Water Ombudsman (Victoria) Limited and the Centre for Engineering Leadership and Management.  Karen is also a Director of Contact Energy Limited in New Zealand.

Reg joined Beach Petroleum in May 1992 as an Executive Director, appointed Chief Executive Officer in October 1995 and Managing Director in May 2002.  He is an exploration geophysicist with 38 years experience in the minerals and petroleum industries.
He is a Non Executive Director of Ramelius Resources Limited, Monax Mining Limited, Marmota Energy Limited and GTL Energy Limited.  Reg is also a Councillor (and former Chairman) of the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association, the peak national petroleum industry body.

Graeme York joined the power industry in 1983 with the State Electricity Commission of Victoria before moving to an independent power producer (Edison Mission Energy) in 1993.  His experience has covered engineering, maintenance, business development and asset management.  This has included three years of business development in Europe, and three years of asset management in the United States. 

Graeme transferred to International Power as a result of the sale of EME's international assets to International Power and Mitsui in December 2004, and is currently CEO of International Power Hazelwood, a 1600 MW power station and associated lignite mine in the Latrobe Valley, Victoria.
