Gaurav Agarwal was appointed as Chief Financial and Support Officer (CFSO) in 2007 for Tamweel PJSC, a leading Sharia compliant mortgage provider in the UAE.
Gaurav is responsible for management and control of the major financial departments, including corporate accounting, treasury, financial planning, strategic planning, structured finance, and debt and capital management. He also manages the key support function of the company covering human resource management (HR) and corporate development projects (Projects).
Gaurav joined Tamweel in 2005 and prior to his appointment as CFSO, Gaurav served as Head of Credit and Asset Valuation and was responsible for credit policy, underwriting, collections and overall management of portfolio. He introduced the concept and practice of risk adjusted pricing and developed execution tools like “Happy Selling”. Gaurav, in his capacity of a consultant at E&Y, was part of the steering committee to launch Tamweel in 2003.
Gaurav is a keen believer in People, Quality, Focus and Results.
Prior to joining Tamweel, Gaurav was a Senior Manager in Corporate Finance and Business Advisory group at Ernst and Young (E&Y). Gaurav is a well qualified finance and management professional with his education as MBA (finance), Cost and Works Accountant (AICWAI) and Chartered Financial Analyst (ICFAI). He started his career in 1995 with Grindwell Norton, a subsidiary of Saint Gobain (French MNC) in Bangalore, India.

Nasser Al Shaali was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the DIFC Authority in November 2006. Mr. Al Shaali also serves on the Board of the DFM , Emirates University, Business College Advisory , ( Ministry Social Welfare Fund ) and Dubai Statistics Centre.
Prior to this, Nasser held the position of Chief Operating Officer at the DIFX, where he helped to launch the region’s only international exchange for a range of financial products and attracted leading regional and international companies. During this time, he also saw the DIFX established as the world’s largest Sukuk (Islamic bond) exchange.
In 2004, he was appointed to the Corporate Planning department at the DIFC Authority, where he was engaged in strategy formulation, risk assessment, performance management and special projects. This followed on from his work as a freelance consultant on strategy and business development, business diagnostics, marketing and technology for several regional firms based in Dubai.
Mr Al Shaali moved to the UAE in 2001, when he assumed a management role involving strategy, business development and planning with the Technology and Media Free Zone (TECOM) and investments and subsidiaries, comprising 13 operating companies in sectors including: energy; telecoms; ICT; education; broadcast and print media.
During his work with TECOM, Nasser was seconded to The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, as a consultant on the Dubai TV and Al Bayan diagnostics. He also worked to establish Dubai Media Incorporation (DMI), including the nomination and structuring of the board of directors and the transition and integration of the interim management team.
Nasser began his career freelancing as an emerging technologies consultant in Washington. During this time he also served with C&O Resources, conducting strategic research and analysis of US Mideast policy for selected governmental and private clients.
Nasser received a BA in Philosophy and International Relations, with an ancillary specialization in Communication Technologies, from the American University, Washington DC, in 1998.

Keith Allman is the principal trainer and founder of Enstruct, a structured finance analytics training and consulting company. He is currently leading ABS valuation with NSM Capital, a Greenwich, Connecticut based capital management company. His particular area of expertise is structured finance in emerging markets, including most of Latin America, Russia, South Africa, and Turkey. Mr. Allman has also recently written the book Modeling Structured Finance Cash Flows in Excel: A Step By Step Guide and is currently working on a second book, both published by John Wiley & Sons. Prior to his current position, he was a Vice President in the Global Special Situations Group at Citigroup, where he focused on principal finance in emerging markets. Previously he worked in Citigroup’s Global Securitized Markets division modeling conduit transactions and in MBIA Corporation’s Quantitative Analytics group. Outside of corporate work, Mr. Allman has written computer curriculum and provides instruction for low-income individuals through Streetwise Partners. His education includes a master’s degree in international affairs with a concentration in finance and banking from Columbia University and bachelor degrees in political science and psychology from UCLA.

Rasameel Structured Finance
Mohammed is responsible for spearheading Rasameel’s expansion into the UAE and developing Rasameel’s principal investments platform. Rasameel is a leading Kuwaiti investment company, whose business model revolves around Shariah compliant structured finance and investment banking. Prior to joining Rasameel, Mohammed was with HSBC’s Middle Eastern securitisaiton team since 2005. In this role Mohammed had responsibility for originating and executing the first public rated Middle Eastern securitisation - UAE CMBS Vehicle No. 1 as well as working on securitisation transactions in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait. By training, Mohammed is a UK qualified lawyer and he worked in the capital markets and securitisation group of Lovells (both in London and Tokyo) for 6 years. In this role Mohammed developed an expertise for emerging market securitisation and Islamic capital markets transactions - working on a number of high profile transactions, including, the first residential mortgage securitisation in Saudi Arabia. Mohammed has also spent time with Lehman Brothers, London where he worked on a number of UK Master Trust securitisation transaction. Mohammed has a law degree from Trinity College, University of Cambridge and completed his law school at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice.

Stephen holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree and a Master of Business (Banking and Finance) degree from the University of Technology in Sydney.
Aside from being an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, a senior associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and a member of the Institute of Company Directors in Australia, Stephen is also Director of Corporate, Investment Banking and Markets at HSBC Bank Middle East Limited.
Stephen has been involved in Chartered Accounting and Investment Banking for the past 26 years, with experience in everything from structured finance, financial institution consultancy and listed and unlisted equity, to property investment vehicles, investment banking and funds regarding acquisition, due diligence, placement and post-acquisition.
He has 14 years experience in the Middle East, having been a key factor in the establishment of the Merchant Banking business for The Saudi British Bank, a Director and Regional Head for ANZ Investment Bank; responsible for business origination and client relations in the GCC; and a Placement Principal with Investcorp Bank B.S.C.
Stephen has previously lived in Riyadh but now resides in Dubai and Bahrain.

David is a partner in Deloitte, London and is Head of UK Securitisation. He is also a member of the European Securitisation Forum. David has a wide range of securitisation expertise dating back to the residential MBS deals in the late 1980's, and the first trade receivables deals and the GPA aircraft lease deals in the early 1990's. Latterly, he has been heavily involved in a number of SIV restructurings.

Tamara Box is a partner and Head of International Structured Finance in Berwin Leighton Paisner’s Capital Markets group in London. She has more than 14 years experience in the fields of capital markets, structured finance and securitisation transactions. She joined BLP from Lovells to spearhead the securitisation efforts for the top-ranking real estate firm. Prior to Lovells, she was with Tite & Lewis (a City law firm associated with Ernst & Young) where she was the Head of Finance. Prior to that, she was responsible for founding the London office of American law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP and for establishing the firm's European securitisation practice. She was also one of the founding members of Orrick's office in Singapore, where she established the firm's securitisation practice for Southeast Asia.
Tamara specialises in a broad range of structured finance, securitisation and capital markets transactions, with a particular focus on cross-border financings. She has been involved in a number of cutting edge securitisation transactions, including the representation of the arrangers of the first Shariah compliant RMBS out of Saudi Arabia, the first cross-border securitisation in South Africa, the first Turkish workers' remittances securitisation and the first onshore securitisation of lease receivables in Turkey. She has worked on transactions involving assets in the UK, Portugal, Italy, Germany, France, Turkey, Greece, Mexico, the United States, Japan, Russia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, South Africa, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Tamara has a particular specialisation in emerging market securitisations and Islamic Finance.
Tamara is a recognised expert in the area of securitisation, having been named as one of the “top ten” UK securitisation lawyers by the International Financial Law Review’s 2005 Guide to the World’s Leading Structured Finance and Securitisation Lawyers and a leading practitioner by each of The Legal 500's Legal Experts, Chambers’ UK Guide and The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers.
Tamara is a graduate of London School of Economics and Political Science (B.Sc. Monetary Economics) and Georgetown University Law Center (J.D., cum laude). She is both a solicitor, qualified to practice under the laws of England and Wales, and an attorney at law, qualified to practice under the laws of New York.

Debashis Dey is a Partner at the global law firm of Clifford Chance. He is located in the law firm's Dubai office and is head of Capital Markets and Structured Finance for the Middle East. Frank Dubas, Managing Partner International Securitization, is a partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP’s New York office. For the past twenty-two years, he has worked extensively on asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities transactions. He specializes in rendering advice to clients concerning the application of generally accepted accounting principles and consequences of securitizations. He serves financial industry clients such as: Barclays, Bear Stearns, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, GMAC RFC, Greenwich Capital, JPMorgan Chase, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Nomura and UBS.

Khalid Howladar is the Senior Credit Officer for MENA Asset Backed & Sukuk Finance at Moody's and a leading figure in regional securitisation. Martin joined the DFSA in 2006 as Managing Director, Markets and has overall responsibility for the DFSA’s regulation of the Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX) the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) and other future exchanges that may receive authorisation to operate within the DIFC. Martin was previously a Senior Executive at the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).
Over a career at the ASX spanning some 30 years, Martin has gained wide ranging experience of the operations of the Exchange. He has held various positions at the ASX including Company Secretary and General Counsel as well as managing the Membership / Intermediaries and Enforcement functions. Martin holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Sydney University, is a solicitor and has had a long involvement with industry associations aimed at fostering and developing Commercial and Corporate Law communities in Australia.

Mr. Suresh Kumar has been a member of the senior Management of Emirates Bank Group since 1989 and prior to that had held senior treasury and general management positions in a Government of Dubai project and in the banking sector in India, in the U.K. and in the West Cost of the U.S.
He has been the Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Financial Services PSC since establishing it in October 1997; as a successor to Emirates Merchant Bank Ltd that was incorporated by him as an offshore entity in 1991. Tahir M. Naseem is the Chief Operating Officer for Saudi Home Loans, one of the very first specialized housing finance institutions operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (“KSA”). Mr. Naseem is responsible for developing and leading the entire operation for the institution from origination to servicing to treasury and capital markets. Previously, as a Senior Director, Capital Markets for Unicorn Investment Bank (“UIB”) in Bahrain, Mr. Naseem was responsible for all real estate capital market transactions and led and executed the very first rated Islamic mortgage-backed securities transaction on behalf of a real estate leasing company in KSA. In addition, he was also responsible for structuring and issuing the landmark global capital markets Sukuks for the largest real estate developer in KSA for a total amount of US$1.6 billion.

Syed joined NBD Investment Bank to head up the Securitization platform. Syed was previously a Vice President in the Structured Products Group at KeyBanc Capital Markets, Ohio, USA, where he led the execution of several multi-billion dollar securitizations within the residential, auto, marine, leasing, and other esoteric asset classes. Specifically, Syed’s expertise lies in the advisory of the origination and warehousing of loans, as well as arranging these loans into a securitization structure for various asset classes. His product coverage includes RMBS, CMBS, ABS, and CRE CDO’s.
Prior to joining KeyBanc Capital Markets, Syed was a Vice President at Wachovia Bank N.A. in their Structured Transactions and Analytical Research Group (STAR), since 1996. At Wachovia Syed was in charge of structuring and advising internal and external clients.
Syed has an MBA from the Case Western Reserve University and a B.A. degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Syed also holds series 7 and 63 NASD licenses.

In 1999, Simon established South African Homeloans, South Africa’s first discount home loan specialist and non-bank mortgage lender. He was appointed the company’s first Chief Executive Officer in 2000, a position he held until his resignation in October 2004. During his tenure as CEO of SA Home Loans, the Company grew its mortgage portfolio from a zero base to in excess of R20 billion ($3.5 billion).
He has spoken widely, both locally and internationally and has written numerous articles on “securitisation”. He led the team which brought South Africa’s first residential mortgage backed security issue to the market in November 2001 (Thekweni 1) and was, subsequent to this issue, intimately involved in the structuring and marketing of a further three Thekwini bond portfolios.
Since November 2005, Simon has been retained by Kingdom Installment as an advisor to the Board. Kingdom Installment is a specialist loan finance company operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During this period, Simon successfully launched the Gulf’s first Sharia compliant mortgage securitisation program (KSA MBS) and executed a strategic alliance on behalf of the company with Arab National Bank and the International Finance Corporation, in terms of which KIC will be recapitalised in excess of $550 million, making it the largest specialist home loan finance company operating in the GCC.
In March 2007, Simon merged his investment and consulting activities under Catalis (Pty) Ltd, through which entity he now consults to a wide range of both national and international clients. Catalis has recently acquired a private equity stake in Integer, a mortgage start-up operation in Cape Town, where Simon is currently deployed as CEO, responsible for launching the Company.
