Find out how you can profit from the bull market
The market for scrap metals has never been as bullish before. A 95% boost in prices over the past two years for copper, aluminum, lead, tin, and zinc, has driven up scrap metal prices dramatically. Price of copper scrap, for example, has risen by 260% over the past year.
The bull market could run for years. Unlike previous scrap metal booms, this one is being driven not just by prices of the raw materials themselves but also by an unprecedented surge in global demand for scrap metals.
Demand for scrap metals is being driven by developing countries like China, India, Dubai, Turkey and Russia, which now consume more metals than they can produce. Interestingly, scrap metal is now the second-largest U.S. export to China.
With the increasing attention on scrap metal as a hot commodity, the industry needs a platform that provides greater transparency on global demand and supply, legislation issues, price trends and trading opportunities.
World Scrap Metal Congress 2008 is the platform
2008 topics include:
- Demand and supply forecast for US, Europe, Asia and Middle East Trade and non-trade barriers affecting the import and export of scrap metals in Europe, US and Asia
- New legislations for scrap metal industry in key focus market – China, India, Europe and US
- Using trade finance and structured finance mechanisms to manage cash flow and supply chain complexities
- Global and Regional Outlook on the Demand & Supply of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Scrap Metals
- Regulations Governing the Scrap Metals Industry & Impact on Export and Import
- Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Scraps: The Buyers’ Perspectives
Supply Outlook & the Role of Key Suppliers
- Pricing, Trading and Logistics Costs
