Glenn Maguire is the Asia Pacific Chief Economist for Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking based in Hong Kong. Having joined the bank in 1996, Glenn has principal carriage for regional economic research. Glenn is a member of the Global Capital Markets Economics Team that produces a number of highly regarded economic and cross asset publications. Additionally, Glenn also produces a suite of economic products specific to the Asian Market.
Glenn has over 15 years of applied economic forecasting experience in demanding public and private sector roles. Previous to joining Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking, Glenn was an economic adviser in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet in Canberra, Australia. Working with the Reserve Bank and Federal Treasury (the Joint Economic Forecasting Group) he helped to formulate the Government’s official forecasts for the Australian economy and provided in depth economic analysis for the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Prior to this, Glenn worked as a research Assistant to Professor Bary Hughes at the University of Newcastle in Australia. Dr Hughes is widely regarded as one of Australia's leading macro-economists.
