Bill has had 25 years experience in logistics, materials handling and transport in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia. He is a foundation member of Austrak, a company currently developing a series of world class intermodal shipping terminals in Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. Under Bill’s leadership, the Victorian Freight and Logistics Council’s Freight Intermodal Efficiency Group has undertaken an Industry Intermodal Awareness Program, investigated regulatory impediments to intermodal operations, and is currently undertaking the Business Activity Harmonisation Study - a national approach to ameliorating the impact of mismatched working hours in supply chains.

Buddhima, a graduate from Imperial College, London (BSC and MSc) completed his PhD at University of Alberta in 1987 after working with joint consultants William Halcrow & Partners (UK) and Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (Sri Lanka). After working at Asian Institute of Technology (Bangkok) for 3 years (Associate Professor), Buddhima joined University of Wollongong in 1991 as a Lecturer, where currently he is Professor of Civil Engineering.

Liam McKay is TTF Australia's National Policy Manager, Transport. TTF Australia is a national, Member-funded CEO forum, advocating the public policy interests of the 200 most prestigious corporations and institutions in the Australian transport, property, tourism, investment & infrastructure sectors.
Liam previously worked as a Senior Manager for Queensland Transport, where he managed community partnerships and development. Liam created the TransLink integrated ticketing brand for south east Queensland's public transport system, marketed regional bus and air services and ran the world's largest travel behaviour change project promoting sustainable transport. Liam studied law prior to working as a journalist here and overseas. He is also a former media advisor to the Federal Government.

Dr. Paul Mees has taught transport planning, metropolitan planning and planning law in the Urban Planning Program at the University of Melbourne since 1998. Before that, he worked as a research fellow at the Australian National University’s Urban Research Program, and before becoming an academic he was a lawyer. Paul is the author of A Very Public Solution: Transport in the Dispersed City, published by Melbourne University Press, and has been a consultant to local, regional and State government transport and planning agencies in Australia and Canada. He is a frequent media commentator on transport and urban planning issues.

Carolyn Walsh (BEc, GAICD) was appointed Chief Executive of ITSRR in January 2004. Carolyn joined the NSW Public Service in October 2000 and soon after was appointed Executive Director Strategy in the Office of the Coordinator General of Rail. Her responsibilities included coordinating operational and safety issues between publicly owned rail authorities in NSW. Carolyn provided advice in this capacity to the then Department of Transport on the preparation of the Rail Safety Act 2002. Prior to this Carolyn had extensive experience in the Commonwealth Government in policy development and program implementation in the areas of small business (regulation reform, export programs and access to finance), sectoral policies (particularly in steel, automotive and wood and paper products), science and innovation.

Bill joined TransAdelaide as General Manager in February 2005, after having held the position of General Manager, Sydney Ferries from 2002 until 2004. Prior to that, Bill was a management consultant specialising in marine safety. He has also held various positions within Adsteam Marine Ltd, a publicly listed company operating in the marine and ports industry. Bill’s last position with Adsteam was General Manager, Development, where he led the Flinders Ports consortium that acquired the former South Australian Ports Corporation for A$191m. Bill holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Melbourne.
