Anil D. Aggarwal is a recognised global leader in the prepaid card industry. He is Chairman and CEO of TxVia, a technology company that is revolutionising prepaid card processing. He is also Founder and Chairman of the NBPCA, the leading trade organization for network branded prepaid cards. Previously, he co-founded and led Prepaid Media, a trade media company which operates Paybefore, the leading publication for the prepaid card industry. From 2004 to 2006, he was CEO and a director of TSYS Prepaid, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TSYS (NYSE: TSS).

He has worked as an investment banker for Merrill Lynch, a diving instructor in Cairns, an assistant cameraman for National Geographic in the Arctic and a professional fox shooter.

Tamara’s experience in Australia’s prepaid space is unique and ranges from strategy, product development and operational fulfillment to commercial structures and reselling via third parties and corporate channels.

Alison is an Australian adviser to the IBA Anti-Money Laundering Legislation Implementation Group, Chair of the IPA AML Working Group, member of the IFSA AML Working Group, member of the Pre-Paid International Forum, and one of the few legal practitioners in Australia to receive accreditation as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist from ACAMS®.

Known as the Gift Card Guru, Dan Horne is the world’s leading expert on consumer purchase and use of gift cards, an area he has studied since 1992.  Horne is an Associate Professor in the Department of Marketing at Providence College in Rhode Island, USA, where he teaches Consumer Behavior.

Following his doctoral work, he began a series of large-scale research projects investigating the consumer purchase and usage of gift certificates and cards as well as the role these products play as rewards, incentives, and promotions. His work has been published in both academic and practitioner journals and in 2005 he co-authored, the European Guide to Gift and Stored Value.  In addition, his industry research reports are published 8 times annually in Giftex Prepay’s Global Prepay Intelligence.

For the last fourteen years he has worked as a researcher, analyst and advisor on gift certificates/cards for retailers, financial services companies and suppliers in North America, Europe and Australasia. He provides expert commentary on retailer performance to the financial markets, and to the print and electronic media. He has served as an advisor to governmental authorities in the US and Canada on issues surrounding the sale and purchase of gift cards.

Brian Triplett

Triplett’s deep experience across the payments industry includes expertise in developing electronic payment products, managing commercial industry alliances and establishing payment platforms for  B2B e-commerce, smart cards, prepaid products and contactless card products.

Triplett joined Visa USA in 2000, and held several senior positions within Visa’s product organization.  Previously, Triplett was senior vice president of Emerging Product Development for Visa USA, with responsibility for Visa’s new payment and security technologies such as the Visa payWave program and new authentication strategies. 

Prior to that role, Triplett led both Visa’s Commercial Solutions B2B products team and the Public Sector team responsible for federal, state, local and higher education card programs.  Triplett also led Visa’s Core Processing Solutions group, where he developed strategic direction for access, authorization, clearing and settlement platforms. 

Prior to joining Visa, Triplett held positions at American Express, including a role on the New Business Venture team, responsible for the development of prepaid products and chip-based payment devices.  He also served with the Corporate Services group, developing new products and services for commercial customers.

Triplett holds a master’s of business administration from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management.

Michael is a Director of Edgar, Dunn & Company, based in the Sydney office.  He has 20 years experience in senior management and consulting roles in the cards and payments industry, primarily in Australia, the US, and several Asian markets. Michael commenced his career in the management consulting division of Deloitte Haskins & Sells, and subsequently co-founded Electronic Trading Concepts (an ecommerce consulting firm), Catuity (a loyalty systems provider), and Cards etc (a smart card management system provider). Since joining EDC in 2002, Michael has conducted projects with clients in the financial services, retail/wholesale, government, and travel/ tourism sectors, primarily concentrating on business development, new market entry (organic and inorganic), infrastructure development, transaction acquiring, and emerging technologies / products. These projects have been conducted in over 20 markets globally, including more than a dozen in the Asia Pacific region. Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Australian National University (majors in management accounting and information technology), has lectured at two universities, has had published academic papers and articles on payment systems, and has spoken at numerous industry conferences globally.

Russell Zimmerman purchased the business of Spark’s Shoe’s in 1980 with his wife Marion. Spark’s Shoes are family shoe shops specialising in the fitting of children’s shoes. In 2001 Russell and Marion opened the First Rockport Retail Concept Shop in Australia at Castle Hill in NSW. Russell was invited to join the Australian Retailers Association as a State Division Councillor in 1995. In 1997 Russell was elected as a State delegate to the Australian Retailers Association National Council- a position that he still holds.
