Andrew Gunther is the Country Manager for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) responsible for Brazil. Under Mr. Gunther’s leadership, the IFC committed $1.1 billion in investments in Brazil in fiscal year 2008 and syndicated an additional $577 million. Andrew has also worked in various investment positions in IFC in telecommunications, capital markets and in the Latin America department, financing companies through loans, equity investments and other instruments. From 1997 until 2002, Mr. Gunther was a Managing Director for Emerging Markets Partnership (EMP), an emerging markets private equity fund management firm with over US$5 billion under management. At EMP, Mr. Gunther was in charge of telecom & media investments and participated in all investment decisions for the AIG-GE Capital Latin American Infrastructure Fund, L.P., a US$1 billion private equity fund dedicated to Latin America sponsored by AIG and GE Capital.
