Christopher Apone joined CB Richard Ellis in 2002 as a financial analyst with the Institutional Group, a division of CBRE’s Investment Properties Division that focuses on Institutional clients and transactions. In his current role on the team, Mr. Apone is active in the marketing of office, industrial, and flex assets in addition to the placement of debt and equity for a variety of asset types in the State of Florida. Chris is a permanent and exclusive member of Christian Lee’s and Charles Foschini's capital markets team, and oversees a team of financial analysts and marketing assistants. Prior to joining CB Richard Ellis, Chris worked as a market research analyst for Cushman and Wakefield, performing office and industrial market analyses as well as the production of quarterly marketing reports. While studying for his MBA, Chris worked as a portfolio acquisitions associate for a diversified real estate hedge fund and was responsible for the analysis and investment in over $35 million in profitable Florida real estate tax liens. Chris Apone graduated Cum Laude from the University of Miami with a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance in 2001. He acquired his Bachelor’s Degree in International Finance and Marketing, with honors, at the same institution in 1999. Mr. Suarez was the founder and former Chairman & CEO of Midtown Bank & Trust Company, from its inception in August 2002 through May 2004. Mr. Suarez began his banking career in 1983 with First American Bank in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Suarez helped form and became the Manager of the bank’s Private Banking Group. From 1987 until 1992, Mr. Suarez worked with Buckhead Bank (which merged with Chattahoochee Bank) in the Midtown Atlanta market as Vice President and Manager of the bank’s second largest corporate office, which was known as the Midtown Banking House. During 1992 and 1993, he also served as President of The Ayoub Group, Inc., a small merchant bank owned by a former CFO of the Coca Cola Company. From late 1993 until 2000, Mr. Suarez worked with Alex Brown & Sons, a Baltimore-based investment banking firm, which subsequently became part of Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank. As a Vice President and Manager for the Latin America Region, Mr. Suarez led a team of institutional brokers, private bankers and investment bankers, which covered the region’s banks, mutual funds, and family offices. From 2000 until early 2002, Mr. Suarez was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Meritspan Holdings, Inc., a company funded primarily by venture capital that provided technology and consulting services to Fortune 500 companies. Beginning in 1999, Mr. Suarez was the co-founder and lead organizer of the United Americas Bank, N.A., headquartered in Fulton County. Mr. Suarez resigned from his position as Vice Chairman of the holding company board at United Americas Bank to lead the formation of Midtown Bank & Trust Company. Mr. Suarez is active in various civic and philanthropic causes in the Atlanta and Midtown communities.
