In this position he helped Turkcell introducing m-payment in Turkey. He is also responsible for research and implementation of different m-payment and m-commerce schemes and applications in Turkcell including NFC. He represents Turkcell in different organisations and working groups across the world. Prior to joining Turkcell, Burcin worked between 1999 and 2004 in Nortel Networks Turkey. Gordon Cooper is Regional Head of Mobile Payment in Visa’s Asia Pacific Region and has overall responsibility for driving innovation in Visa payment services across mobile consumer devices. Cooper joined Visa’s Singapore head office for Asia Pacific region in 1998, working initially on smart card initiatives targeted at emerging markets. In 1999, he shifted focus to the Japanese market, where he was responsible for defining Visa’s strategy in Japan for the migration to the Europay, MasterCard, and Visa (EMV) standard for smart cards. Moving to London in 2000, he took on responsibility for business development at a start-up venture in the Internet payments space, before coming back to Visa, this time in the London head office of the Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) region. While in CEMEA region, Cooper played an influential role in defining smart card strategy for emerging markets, and was responsible for various smart card initiatives in Africa and Eastern Europe. In mid-2002, he transferred back to Visa Asia Pacific to become head of Visa’s smart card department in Japan. Under his leadership, Visa’s Tokyo office grew the number of EMV-compliant Visa cards in Japan from 4 million to 10 million in just one year and set the pace for EMV migration in Asia Pacific. In 2003, his role was expanded to include oversight of regional product development in smart cards, e-commerce, mobile commerce, and money transfer solutions. His accomplishments in that role include the launch of Visa’s first contactless smart card program. Cooper moved to Ho Chi Minh City in June 2004 to establish Visa’s presence in Vietnam and to serve as Country Manager for Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. Securing the first operating license in Vietnam for an international payment card company, he laid the groundwork for the establishment of a national settlement solution for Visa member banks in Vietnam and oversaw the launch of Visa Debit. He subsequently oversaw Visa’s operations in Singapore and Brunei before assuming his current post as Regional Head of Mobile Payment in November 2006. Prior to joining Visa, Cooper worked and studied in various parts of Japan. Originally from Halifax, Canada, he holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Asia specialization from York University and an Honors Degree in Political Science / International Relations from Dalhousie University – both in Canada. Cooper currently resides in Singapore with his wife, Chere, and two sons, Julian and William.

Antony de Jong was educated at the Wharton school of the University of Pennsylvania and also holds an honours law degree and a science degree from the University of Melbourne. He is the Director of Payments Solutions and Transaction Services at Telstra Corporation and has recently been seconded to lead Industry Marketing developing Telstra’s vertical industry offerings and new industry marketing executive team. He has lead Telstra’s recent payments innovation activities including the launch of the Telstra, VISA, National Australia Bank contactless mobile payments market trial. Antony represents Telstra on the Australian Payments and Clearing Association (APCA) industry consultation committee and has regularly spoken at conferences on technology innovation in banking, transactions and payments. Prior to joining Telstra in late 2004, Antony was a Partner with Accenture leading the Financial Services Strategy & Business Architecture practice in Melbourne. In this role, he established and grew the business, winning and leading strategy engagements with major Australian and Asian clients. In 2000, Claire was seconded to Maxis Malaysia and was responsible for the Maxis prepaid product migration to an Intelligent Network platform and the deployment of other key initiatives within the fast growing Hotlink Prepaid segment.
