Gordon Cooper is Regional Head of Mobile Payment in Visa’s Asia Pacific Region and has overall responsibility for driving innovation in Visa payment services across mobile consumer devices. Cooper joined Visa’s Singapore head office for Asia Pacific region in 1998, working initially on smart card initiatives targeted at emerging markets. In 1999, he shifted focus to the Japanese market, where he was responsible for defining Visa’s strategy in Japan for the migration to the Europay, MasterCard, and Visa (EMV) standard for smart cards. Moving to London in 2000, he took on responsibility for business development at a start-up venture in the Internet payments space, before coming back to Visa, this time in the London head office of the Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) region. While in CEMEA region, Cooper played an influential role in defining smart card strategy for emerging markets, and was responsible for various smart card initiatives in Africa and Eastern Europe. In mid-2002, he transferred back to Visa Asia Pacific to become head of Visa’s smart card department in Japan. Under his leadership, Visa’s Tokyo office grew the number of EMV-compliant Visa cards in Japan from 4 million to 10 million in just one year and set the pace for EMV migration in Asia Pacific. In 2003, his role was expanded to include oversight of regional product development in smart cards, e-commerce, mobile commerce, and money transfer solutions. His accomplishments in that role include the launch of Visa’s first contactless smart card program. Cooper moved to Ho Chi Minh City in June 2004 to establish Visa’s presence in Vietnam and to serve as Country Manager for Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. Securing the first operating license in Vietnam for an international payment card company, he laid the groundwork for the establishment of a national settlement solution for Visa member banks in Vietnam and oversaw the launch of Visa Debit. He subsequently oversaw Visa’s operations in Singapore and Brunei before assuming his current post as Regional Head of Mobile Payment in November 2006. Prior to joining Visa, Cooper worked and studied in various parts of Japan. Originally from Halifax, Canada, he holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Asia specialization from York University and an Honors Degree in Political Science / International Relations from Dalhousie University – both in Canada. Cooper currently resides in Singapore with his wife, Chere, and two sons, Julian and William.

Mohamed Kazi worked at Vodacom, South Africa’s largest cellular network, from 1997 until 2003. At Vodacom he was involved in the implementation of M-commerce products with South Africa’s four major banks including the introduction of pre-paid airtime distribution via ATMs, internet banking and Cellphone banking. While at Vodacom he assisted banks with the introduction of Cellphone Banking which led to his move to the Absa Bank Mobile Channel in 2003. Since joining Absa Bank the Cellphone Banking customer base at Absa has grown from 23 000 to over 550 000 services. He implemented WAP 2.0 banking in SA in 2006 resulting in Absa being the first bank to launch this service in SA, also implemented FREE Cellphone Banking which was followed by the other banks in SA and more recently involved the implementation of the successful DSA project for the acquisition of Cellphone Banking clients. Absa currently provides Cellphone Banking via WIG and WAP. In his current role of overseeing the Mobile Channel, he looks after all value added Mobile services including SMS alerts and notifications, WAP portals, content services and location services.

Rahul Khosla oversees product management for all Visa card products across Asia Pacific. His product responsibilities cover core credit, premium (Infinite, Platinum and Gold), deposit access, prepaid and remittances, and emerging products and technology. His role and previous experience in consumer financial services give him an excellent overview of the payment card industry across Asia Pacific. Rahul came to Visa International in 2000 after a 17-year career in consumer financial services in India. Before joining Visa International, he was the India country head for ANZ Grindlays Bank Personal Financial Services, which included business responsibility for retail banking and cards. Prior to that, he worked as Country Manager South Asia for Visa International and Vice President with Bank of America where he helped launch retail financial services in India. He also worked with American Express TRS where he helped launch the Indian card business and set up the global Financial Resource Center in India. Married, with two children, Rahul is based in Singapore.

Andrew combines his passion for new mobile technology and his experience in both large corporations and small to medium enterprises to understand the consumer and the online retail space.
After completing a Bachelor of Business/Marketing at Monash University, he started working with CarterHoltHarvey; first managing market leading brands such as Sorbent, Handee and Libra and then moving into brand management for Purex in Australia and New Zealand. Pursuing his interest in technology, he spent 2 years developing their eBusiness strategy and implementing projects including CRM and B2B trading. Andrew also held senior roles within their commercial businesses, before returning as Trade Marketing Manager. Remaining in FMCG, Andrew began growing a small Queensland based retailer called GetWinesDirect by moving it to Melbourne and expanding its offering and consumer base. GetWinesDirect quickly became Australia’s premier online wine retailer, specialising in excellent quality and value, and selling direct online or via the phone with a unique business model. Returning to corporate FMCG within the Woolworths business team at SCA, Andrew consulted in areas covering margin analysis, profitability, category review processes and communication.
His first move into the mobile industry was as General Manager for Victoria’s operations of Legion Interactive. Now known as Belong, they are Australia’s largest interactive marketing agency behind campaigns for Big Brother, Australian Idol, Coca-Cola and MasterCard to name a few. Now, as Head of Online Sales at Crazy John’s - Australia’s leading independent mobile retailer - Andrew has been integral in launching Australia’s newest MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator).

Sertac Ozinal is Chief Executive Officer of BKM as of 2004. BKM, Interbank Card Centre of Turkey carry out the authorization operation between the banks, domestic clearing and settlement of debit and credit card transactions. Before taking up his present role, Mr.Ozinal was Vice President of Retail Banking, Pamukbank. He joined Pamukbank in 1993 where he was promoted to Marketing Vice President in 1995. He was also responsible for the selling of retail banking products through all Pamukbank’s delivery channels. From 1988 to 1993 Mr. Ozinal worked for Andersen Consulting, in the Chicago and Istanbul Offices as Financial Services Senior Consultant.
