Jon joined MIESF in June of 1999 and is responsible for the overall management of the Fund. Jon has over 30 years in the investment management industry, including wide experience in superannuation. Prior to his appointment to MIESF, Jon was a Director and Asset Consultant within the Corporate Finance section of PricewaterhouseCoopers and in this role was responsible for establishing an investment consulting practice with clients ranging from superannuation funds to insurance funds and funds managers. Prior to that, Jon was Manager Investment Consultant at Sedgwick Noble Lowndes.

Mr. Anand Bordia has 35 years of professional experience, most of which have been at a senior level in Government of India and in international organizations. Most recently, he was Member (Finance) of the Board of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and took a number of initiaves in innovative financing, resource mobilization and public private partnership in implementation of National Highways Development Project (NHDP); an ambitious highway development project of Govt. of India involving construction of about 13000 km of highways. In addition to his charge of Member (Finance) Mr. Bordia was also Chairman-cum-Managing Director of a number of Port- Road Toll companies (Special Purpose Vehicles) of the NHAI. Mr. Bordia conducted technical assistance programmes in Asian (Korea, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh), African (Kenya and Tanzania) and South American (Jamaica) countries for the Harvard Institute for International Development, UNCTAD, UNODC, World Bank, Asian Development Bank and the World Customs Organisation. Garry was appointed by TTF Australia in August 2005 to launch a new independent division called Infrastructure Partnerships Australia (IPA). Its mandate is to provide leadership in the national infrastructure debate and shape enduring relationships between government and the private sector. IPA was formally launched in December 2005 and since that time it has grown rapidly to be the largest infrastructure association in Australia. With almost 20 years of commercial and Government experience spanning Australia, Asia and the OECD, Garry brings a wealth of experience, insight and ‘blue chip’ networks to IPA. He has previously held senior executive positions in commercial organisations including Tenix and TAB Limited. Garry also founded vmax Consulting to assist organisations bridge the gap between commercial and Government imperatives in areas like regulatory change and public-private partnerships. Prior to entering the private sector Garry held a range of positions in Canberra including as a senior Commonwealth Treasury official, Head of International Economics and Finance at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and adviser to Hon. Gareth Evans QC. Garry has recently been appointed to the Australian Pacific Economic Cooperation Committee (AUSPECC) to advise the federal government on regional trade and investment initiatives in APEC. Prior to joining RREEF, John was the Chief Financial Officer of the Spark Infrastructure Group and was an independent adviser to RREEF on the US$1.5 billion Spark Infrastructure initial public offering and its US$1.9 billion acquisition of interests in three Australian electricity utility businesses. Gajendra Haldea graduated in Economics and Law at the University of Rajasthan and joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1973. He later went for a Fellowship at the London School of Economics. Among a wide array of assignments, he has spent 10 years with the Union Finance Ministry where he was last posted as Joint Secretary (Infrastructure) until November 1998. The combination of law, economics and finance coupled with his extensive experience in several sectors of the economy have placed him in a unique position for contributing to the evolution of the framework and policies for privatisation of infrastructure services. While in the Ministry of Finance, he was responsible for infrastructure sectors, exchange control, economic relations with the Americas, Project Monitoring Unit and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) portfolio. He was closely involved in policy formulation and implementation relating to infrastructure sectors. He also made significant improvements to the ADB portfolio in India including a sharp increase in disbursement ratios reaching a record 30 percent plus. In his different assignments over the years, he has been responsible for dealing with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and various bilateral developmental agencies such as USAID, CIDA, JICA, etc. and has formulated and negotiated several infrastructure projects with these agencies. He advised the Government of Rajasthan on commercialisation of infrastructure services and is also drafting the model framework for privatization of state highways. He also advised the Government of Chhattisgarh on the legal and policy framework for BOT road projects. He was on the board of the Chhattisgarh Infrastructure Development Corporation (CIDC) chaired by the Chief Minister. He is also the Advisor to Government of Punjab on Public Private Partnerships for State Highway projects. In that capacity, he is responsible for structuring and bidding out 12 BOT road projects in the State. He was invited to join the National Council of Applied Economic Research, New Delhi as Chief Advisor and Head of the Centre for Infrastructure and Regulation and took that position in October 2000. Since November 2004, he is also Adviser to the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission with particular responsibilities relating to infrastructure reforms.

Mr. Kalkman worked for more than a decade in the energy and infrastructure industry in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He is currently based in Singapore, where he leads Arcapita’s Asset-Based Investment team in Asia. Prior to joining Arcapita, Mr. Kalkman worked for 13 years at McKinsey&Company, a global consultancy firm. Until 2002, he was a partner in their Amsterdam office and one of the leaders of the European Utility Practice. Between 2002 and 2005, he led McKinsey’s Manila office and also the Asian Utility Practice, working mostly in China, India, Malaysia and the Philippines. Early 2005, Mr. Kalkman moved to the Middle East, where he set up the office in Bahrain and established the Utility Practice in the GCC. Within the GCC, he worked extensively in Oman, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. He left the Middle East in July 2007 to join Arcapita in Singapore. He attended Seoul National University where he studied economics from 1971 to 1975. His economics study continued throughout his graduate study at University of Minnesota (MA, 1981) and Chung-Ang University (Ph.D., 1998). In 1975, he joined the Economic Planning Board (EPB) as deputy director before he was sent to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) from 1985 to 1987. Upon returning to Korea, he took charge of human resources development as director in EPB. Until 1995, his responsibility in EPB included directorship of various divisions such as macroeconomic analysis, financial planning, trade coordination, regional economic analysis, and international economic cooperation. In 1995, he served as Secretary to the President for Policy Planning at the Office of the President before his secondment to the IMF as Alternate Executive Director. From 1999 to 2002, he worked as Director-General of Economic Policy Bureau and Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Finance and Economy. And in between the two posts, he again joined the Office of the President as Secretary for Finance and Economy. In 2002, he was appointed as Head of the Public Procurement Service (vice ministerial level), before being appointed as Senior Secretary to the President for National Policy in 2003. In July 2004, he served as Ambassador to the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Korea to the OECD for one year and 8 months. From April to June 2006, he served as Senior Secretary to the President for National Policy and Chief Secretary to the President for National Policy. In July 2006, he was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy. He will leave the current post with the swearing in of the new government on February 25, 2008.

William Lean is the Managing Director of VinaCapital and the Head of Vietnam Infrastructure Limited, a dedicated infrastructure fund to invest in the IndoChina region sponsored by VinaCapital. He was formerly the Group Managing Director of HLG Capital Bhd (listed on Bursa Malaysia), the investment-banking arm of Hong Leong Group. HLG's core businesses are stock broking, fund management and corporate finance. Hong Leong is one of the largest conglomerates headquartered in South East Asia. Prior to joining HLG Capital, he was with Asia Equity Infrastructure Fund (AEIF), an investment fund dedicated to investing in infrastructure assets pan-Asia where he was involved from inception of the fund to divestment of the assets. AEIF was capitalized at $355 million with sponsors being CDPQ (Canadian pension fund), AMP Life (Australian insurance fund) and the Asian Development Bank. He was based in Bangkok working for AEIF for 6 years. Before joining AEIF, he was in equity research (HSBC James Capel - Kuala Lumpur) and corporate finance (Standard Chartered Merchant Bank - Singapore). He graduated with a B.Sc. (Honours) in Economics and Accountancy from City University, London."

Mr Luu joined the Monetary Authority of Singapore (the MAS) in August 2005 and is currently Head of the Financial Markets Strategy Department (FSD). He is responsible for developing the capital markets in Singapore to facilitate fund raising by both local and foreign companies, and the adoption of Singapore as a home-base by financial institutions to tap into regional and international potentials. Prior to joining the MAS, Mr Luu spent 16 years in investment banking with ABN AMRO Rothschild, Citigroup and Credit Suisse in Hong Kong, New York and Singapore. His last position held at the investment banking firms was Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets for North Asia, where he led a team of ECM specialists to originate equity and equity-linked products targeted at global investors. Mr Luu was a Mason Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University class of 2005, where he graduated and was awarded the Littauer fellowship based on academic excellence and leadership potential. Mr Luu obtained his MBA from New York University, Stern School of Business in 1990 and a BBA from the National University of Singapore in 1987. Mr Luu is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Mr. Mayo-Smith is Co-Chairman of Indochina Capital, a leading financial firm focused on Vietnam and SE Asia. Indochina Capital has been investing in Vietnam and SE Asia for 15 years and has over $1.8 billion of funds under management and projects under development. The company has over 300 employees located in HCM City, Hanoi, Danang, Singapore and Hong Kong. He is also the CEO of Indochina Infrastructure, and is now in the process of raising US $500 million for a sustainable infrastructure fund focused on Vietnam and SE Asia. Prior to this position, Mr. Mayo-Smith was the CEO of Indochina Land, a division of Indochina Capital and the leading property developer and fund manager in Vietnam, managing over $ 300 million in two funds. The Funds are invested in residential, office and hotel projects in Vietnam with a total development cost of $ 1.5 billion. Prior to establishing Indochina Capital, Mr. Mayo-Smith served as Morgan Stanley’s advisor in the Indochina Region from 1995-1998, sourcing investments for two Morgan Stanley funds. From 1998-1999 Mr. Mayo-Smith was hired by Citicorp Capital, the private equity division of Citibank, to source investment opportunities and conduct due diligence on over 30 companies.

Andy Mukherjee is a Bloomberg News columnist in Singapore. A student of journalism and business, Andy started his career as a merchant banker in New Delhi in 1994 and subsequently spent four years as a correspondent and news anchor at two of India's biggest television companies before joining Bloomberg in 1999. In his eight years at Bloomberg, six of them spent in Singapore, Andy has covered important Asian economic and business events and interviewed key policy makers and business leaders. Ali Naqvi is the Manager of Infrastructure Sector for East Asia and Pacific Region in the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector financing arm of the World Bank. He is responsible for overseeing IFC investments in various infrastructure sub-sectors including power, water and waste-water, transport infrastructure and transport services. Mr. Naqvi has broad experience in financing private infrastructure investments for IFC in Latin America, Europe, East Asia and the Middle East. These include projects such as container and general cargo port terminals in Chile, Panama, Mexico and Sri Lanka, airports in Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Cambodia and cruise ship terminals in Turkey and Mexico. He is presently Representative Director(CEO) of Darby Hana Infrastructure Fund Management Company, a joint venture management company between Franklin Templeton Group and Hana Bank of Korea, which manages KEIF. Prior to joining Darby, he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors and President, CEO of Korea Infrastructure Fund Management Company, which managed Korea Infrastructure Fund (“KIF”). KIF co-invested with CDP KTIF, an off-shore private equity fund established by Caisse de depot et placement (“CDP”), a Canadian pension fund manager. Dr. Sung worked over 20 years at IFC and the World Bank in Washington, D.C. At the World Bank Group, he assumed various managerial positions including Head of Special Operations Department of IFC which specialized in corporate restructuring operations and managed a portfolio of approx. $ 1 billion. He started his career as a Deputy Director of Banking Bureau at the Ministry of Finance, Korea. As an adjunct professor at George Washington University in Washington and Korea University Business School in Seoul, he has taught international finance-related courses to graduate and undergraduate students. Dr. Bambang Susantono is an alumnus of the Civil Engineering Department at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Bandung, Indonesia. After finishing his bachelor program in ITB, he followed the graduate program in the University of California at Berkeley (UC Berkeley). He holds a Master of City and Regional Planning (MCP), and a Master of Science (MS) in Civil Engineering (CE) from UC Berkeley. He finished his doctoral program at the same university in 2000 and returned to Indonesia. His area of research and interest is in infrastructure planning and transportation engineering. Dr. Susantono is the President of Indonesia Transport Society. He is also serving as a Deputy Minister on Infrastructure and Regional Development for the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, the Republic of Indonesia. His main responsibility is in the area of infrastructure development, regional planning, and business competition. Besides all the duties, he is also a Board Member of East Asia Society of Transportation Studies (EASTS) based in Tokyo, Japan, and a Board Member of the SouthsouthNorth Foundation in Johannesburg, South Africa. Dr. Susantono wrote several books and articles both in Indonesia and in English.

Andrew Yee is the joint Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered IL&FS Asia Infrastructure Growth Fund (SCI Asia), based in Singapore. Andrew has 19 years of infrastructure experience gained from positions in investment banking, industry and private equity.
