Datuk Ranjit Ajit Sigh,
Managing Director,
Securities Commission of Malaysia
Ranjit Ajit Singh is Managing Director of the Securities Commission of Malaysia and is responsible for overseeing the development and supervision of the Malaysian capital market. This includes direct responsibility for all regulated markets (equity and bonds), related market infrastructure for trading, clearing and settlement, the regulation and authorization of firms and representatives in investment banking, broking and asset management and for corporate and market surveillance. Ranjit is also responsible for key strategic developmental initiatives and was responsible for the formulation of the Malaysian Capital Market Masterplan, introduction of a principles based approach to supervision, the establishment of a new financial reporting framework and several key deregulation and liberalisation policies. Ranjit is the chairman of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) group on the regulation of secondary markets covering over 80 jurisdictions. He is also a member of numerous international task forces and was a member of the expert group that prepared the principles being used for international securities regulation. He serves as member of Bursa Malaysia’s capital market advisory committee and is a member of the National Payment’s Council. He has chaired an ASEAN Finance Ministers’ task force, served as a member of the IMF’s expert group on governance of public sector agencies, the Asia-Pacific Financial Reporting Advisory Group (APFRAG), and was a founding member of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board. Ranjit has spoken extensively and given interviews on capital markets globally and has published widely in leading publications in finance and securities markets. He has also been an adviser on developmental and regulatory matters to leading emerging markets globally. Ranjit joined the SC after spending 11 years in Australia where he taught finance at the University of Melbourne and consulted for leading financial institutions. He has also worked with an international accounting firm. He holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree and a Master of Economics degree in Finance from Monash University, Melbourne where he was a graduate scholar. He is also a fellow of CPA Australia.
Ray Bakhramov,

Mr. Bakhramov is a Portfolio Manager and Principal of Forum Asset Management a $400 million hedge fund focusing on credit, equity, agricultural commodity, and asset based lending strategies primarily in the emerging markets. Mr. Bakhramov is responsible for managing the Forum Global Opportunities Fund an emerging markets long/short equity strategy and the Forum Hard Assets Fund a physical agricultural commodity trading strategy. Mr. Bakhramov has over 13 years experience in the global debt markets. Prior to joining Forum, Mr. Bakhramov was at Columbus Advisors where he developed and implemented numerous investment and trading strategies (relative value, sovereign/corporate bonds, distressed situations, local markets, options and equities). Previously he was a sales trader at Renaissance Capital Group in Moscow responsible for trading and analysis of Russian fixed income instruments. From 1995 - 1996, Mr. Bakhramov was at Credit Suisse First Boston where he structured asset-backed securities transactions. Mr. Bakhramov holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Organization and a PhD in Economic Theory from the St. Petersburg Polytechnik Institute in St. Petersburg, Russia
Alka Banerjee,

Alka Banerjee is vice president of Global Equities within Standard & Poor’s index Services group. Alka is responsible for the design and methodology governing these indices. She oversees the creation and management of Standard & Poor's global indices, focusing on creating new benchmarks for international equity markets and promoting their use amongst global clients. Alka was closely involved with the transition of the premier IFC’s Emerging Market Indices to Standard and Poor’s Index Group in 2000, and in the integration of the S&P/Citigroup Indices into the Standard and Poor’s Index family in 2004. Alka is also responsible for the S&P/Citigroup Global Property/REIT Index methodology, guidelines and maintenance procedures. She works closely with S&P’s business development and the sales team. Alka’s special areas of interest are emerging and frontier markets, Islamic Finance and global REITs. Prior to joining Standard & Poor's in 2000, Alka worked for The Bank of New York where she was responsible for the creation, maintenance and marketing of The Bank of New York ADR Index. Before coming to the US, she worked for the State Bank of India for ten years in India. Alka holds a Masters in Economics from Lucknow University in India and an MBA in finance from Pace University, New York.

Frank is a co-founder of StoneWater Capital LLC, a fund of hedge funds firm with over $300 million in assets under management. Frank is responsible for the firm’s Asian investments, and portfolio manager of the Asia ex-Japan, Japan, India and Greater China funds. Frank was most recently a partner of Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm, where he made direct investments in companies in the United States, Europe, the Middle-East and Asia, in particular in the areas of software, technology and communications. Prior to Warburg, Frank started his career as a research engineer with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) in Tokyo, Japan, before joining Nortel Japan as the manager of its Advanced Technology group. Frank holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. He currently is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the French-American School of New York, and has also served on several boards of directors of companies in the United States, Israel and Europe.

John is a Managing Director of Deutsche Bank and the Global Head of Hedge Fund Consulting. His thirty five year career in financial services has encompassed providing professional consulting services to an extensive range of financial market companies, including hedge funds, commodity pool operators and funds, private equity and venture capital funds, as well as derivative traders. John is recognized globally as one of the leading spokesmen and consultants to the Alternative Investment Management Industry. He has served as an advisor to financial institutions that are establishing trading operations, asset management businesses, prime brokerage operations or hedge fund administration companies. He frequently assists clients in understanding the various regulatory and structural frameworks and has worked with advisors in establishing domestic and offshore funds in the hedge fund and commodity fund sectors. In his tenure in public accounting, John had been the engagement partner for many of the most prestigious and largest alternative investment companies in the world. John is also a featured speaker at many industry events and has lectured throughout the world on business issues facing alternative investment funds. John is one of the three founding members of Hedge Funds Care, a worldwide charity focused on fighting child abuse. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Global Custodian for his work in the hedge fund industry in November 2005. John has written a number of articles for leading industry publications including “Hedge Funds 2000”, “The Institutionalization of Hedge Funds” and “The Art of Hedge Funds”. John began his career with Arthur Andersen in 1974 and was admitted as a partner in 1986. He joined Ernst & Young as a senior partner in June 2002. In addition, John served as the Chief Executive Officer of Olympia Capital, a leader in the hedge fund administration industry, from 2005 thru 2006. During his tenure at Olympia Capital, he was responsible for implementing the company’s growth strategy and further strengthening its service offerings. John was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cutting Hedge Consulting Company, LLC, an organization dedicated to providing professional advisory and consulting services to the hedge fund industry. John received a B.A. in Economics from Dickinson College, is a CPA in the State of New York and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. John has three daughters, Laura, Christyn and Michelle. The family is active in musical theater and enjoys skiing and tennis. John is also an accomplished marathoner and triathlete and has completed the Lake Placid Ironman event in 2003, 2005, and 2007.

Active in the investment business for over 25 years, Mr. Bullock is formerly partner of Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange consulting at Greenwich Associates, and Managing Director of Lehman Brothers including Head of Strategic Planning, co-head of the Lehman International Retail Branch system, and head of Central Bank Relationships. After Lehman Brothers Mr. Bullock developed a career in investment management that has included consulting with money managers while at Rogers Casey and Mercer, selling the high end research services of Medley Global Advisors, consulting to and raising capital for funds of funds and hedge funds, starting a tax lien asset management business, and advising a family office on its investments. Mr. Bullock graduated from Princeton University in 1972 with a BA in economics, and from the University of Chicago in 1974 with an MBA in international finance and statistics. Mr. Bullock serves as a Board member and past Chairman of the Board of the Biotechnology Foundation of the Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Paul Eckel is the Founder of Emerging Manager which was launched in early 2004. Mr. Eckel has been involved in the hedge fund industry over the past 17 years as a hedge fund co-founder, COO, capital raiser and trader. Mr. Eckel was recently selected as one of the “20 Rising Stars of Hedge Funds” by Institutional Investor magazine. Prior to launching Emerging Manager, Mr. Eckel served as a Director in the prime brokerage department of RBC Capital. Peter Getsinger has been involved in international business for 30 years and has 16 years experience in Latin America. Peter founded Nexstar Capital Partners in March 2004 and has primary responsibility for investing and managing the assets of the Fund as well as managing the activities and operations of Nexstar. Prior to forming Nexstar, he was head of global investment banking for Latin America at Deutsche Bank. He held the same role at Bankers Trust prior to its merger with Deutsche Bank, where his responsibilities included head of global project finance and international finance. Previously, he served as senior vice president at Lehman Brothers, where he established Lehman’s fixed income origination business in Latin America. His prior position at Lehman was head of fixed income sales in London for the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. Peter currently serves as a board director for Electro Sur Medio (Peru) and previously served on the board of Emdersa (Argentina). Alison Graham is a principal of Voltan Capital Management and lead portfolio manager of the Voltan Frontier Markets Fund. Ms. Graham has over fourteen years’ experience in emerging and frontier markets finance. Until 1998, she was a partner and senior analyst focusing on Latin American equities at the investment bank Caspian Securities. In 1998, she joined United Financial Group in Moscow where she was responsible for equity analysis and advisory related to the restructuring of the Russian energy system. Since 2000, Ms. Graham has worked on behalf of a variety of global firms with investments and other interests in frontier markets. He also manages funds invested in non-performing residential mortgage loan portfolios purchased from the failed-bank agency of the Mexican government. He has been or is currently involved as a leading creditor or advisor in the restructuring of numerous companies in Asia and Latin America including Accel, Alestra, Asia Pulp and Paper, Dina, Durango, Essar Steel, Iusacell, Mechala, Medefin, San Luis, Satmex, SIDEK, Synkro, and Transtel. Prior to joining Gramercy in January 2001, Mr. Rauch worked as a consultant to hedge funds managed by Van Eck Global and Farallon Capital Management, specializing in the analysis of emerging markets special situations. Heather is the founder and former President of Verite, a non-profit organization working with companies on global labor monitoring issues. During her tenure there Ms. White was the labor and human rights consultant to the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS), Emerging Markets Macro Indicators Project, performing social screening of their investment portfolio, covering 27 developing countries. The project established Ms. White and her team in 12 countries as a resource in the assessment of country performance and compliance with international labor conventions. Scientific American magazine named Ms. White as one of the "Scientific American 50" in 2003. The award, for Policy Leadership in Manufacturing, recognized Ms. White's work advocating on behalf of migrant workers in factories in Asia. In 2005 Ms. White received the "Social Capitalist Award" from Fast Company magazine for developing an innovative non-profit organization performing lead-edge research and other services using a collaborative non-profit/private sector model. Until last week, Thierry was senior managing director at Bear Stearns, where he served as Deputy Director of Research for the Emerging Markets and as Global Emerging Markets Strategist. Immediately prior to joining Bear, Thierry was a principal and co-founder of two global hedge funds, first for Caspian Securities and then for Credit Suisse First Boston, both in New York. In both instances he had responsibility for strategy and trading in emerging market currencies, bonds and equities. Thierry began his career in 1991 an an economist with the Federal Reserve bank of New York, where he conducted research in support of the Fed's monetary and financial market policies. Between 1994 and 1996, he was investment officer and senior economist at Strategic Investment Partners in Washington, D.C., an institutional investment advisory company. He holds a B.A. in economics from Vassar College, and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University, where he also served as teaching fellow from 1987 to 1991.

Mr Yusli bin Mohamed Yusoff, aged 49, a Malaysian, graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Essex (United Kingdom) in 1981, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, England & Wales, the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as an Honorary Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia. Mr Yusli began his career in London with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co from 1982 to 1986. He had also held various key positions in a number of public listed and private companies in Malaysia, whose activities spanned over property and infrastructure development, telecommunications, engineering and merchant banking, before he was appointed the Chief Executive Officer/Director of CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd from January 2000 to January 2004. He also served as the Chairman of the Association of Stockbroking Companies in Malaysia from 2003 to 2004. Presently, Mr Yusli is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Bursa Malaysia Berhad and a Board Member of its group of companies.
