Getting there
Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai is a 15-minute drive from Dubai International Airport. Given this close proximity and the busy nature of Dubai traffic, we recommend that guests take a taxi or car service from the airport to the hotel.

From airport
Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai is a mere 15 minutes’ drive from Dubai International Airport. The hotel arranges airport transfers at approximately USD 75 per journey. For pick-up/drop-off reservations, please contact (971 4) 405 2530. Taxis are available outside the Terminal 1 Arrivals Hall. The fare to the hotel is approximately USD 11.
Taxis
Dubai has a large, modern fleet of metered taxis. The starting fare is 3 AED plus a per km charge. Drivers rarely carry much change and it is recommended that you carry 10 AED and 5 AED notes to avoid the hassle of having to find somewhere to break larger notes.
Buses
Local buses operate from stations in Deira and Bur Dubai. Fares are anywhere from between 1 AHD and 3.50 AHD depending on your destination. You pay the driver directly so carry plenty of change. Information on timetables is available from the 24 hour Dubai Municipality hotline 800 4848, or buy calling the hotel desk.
Abras
Abras—small motorboats—are the ideal way to cross Dubai Creek from early morning to late night. There are two routes. One links Bur Dubai with the Deira Old Souk and the other links the Old Souk with Sabkha on the Deira side. The fare is 50 AED. Sensible footwear is recommended.
