Warren is responsible for five key areas across BT including driving the Group Mobility and Convergence Strategy, Product Leadership for BT Retails Convergence Business including BT Fusion, BT Office Anywhere and BT Total Broadband and the Home Hub, BT Retail Portfolio Strategy, BT’s Gaming Business including the relationship with Sony on the Playstation Portable (PSP) and BT’s Strategic Relationships in Convergence and Mobility including Vodafone, FMCA and WBA. He joined BT in March 2005 after 3 years with another UK mobile operator and has been working in telecommunications and mobility since 1989. Warren is married with 2 children and lives in Reading and is a passionate supporter of his local Football Team

Mr. Tamer El Mahdi is currently holding the position of Group Chief Technology Officer for both Weather and Orascom Telecom, responsible for the Network and IT. Mr. El Mahdi holds 17 years of experience in the telecommunications industry including 4 years in his current position in Orascom Telecom Holding, as well as many years in AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Telecom Egypt. Mr. El-Mahdi holds M.Sc in Telecommunication Engineering from California State University, Masters in Project Management from The George Washington University and MBA from Maastricht School of Business.

Mr. Heckmann joined o2 (Germany) (formally known as VIAG Interkom) in 1997 and held various management functions in technology design and development.

As of December 2006 Joachim is the Chief Technology Officer and Member of the Executive Committee of T-Mobile International AG. He also serves as a Board member of the GSM Association. Joachim Horn joined T-Mobile in 2003 as the Technology Director for T-Mobile Germany and Head of Planning and Engineering for T-Mobile International. Prior to T-Mobile, Joachim held several senior management and engineering positions in the telecommunication area during a distinguished career at Siemens AG. Joachim was born in1960 in Frankenberg, Germany. He is a graduate of Wedel University of Applied Science (Germany) in 1984.

Pierre Marin, is currently the Executive Vice President, Chief Operational Officer for software development and in charge of Orange CRM Information Systems. Until the end of 2006, he was in charge of the Orange Billing Information System. During this period, he has transformed the Orange Information System in depth by restructuring the legacy activity, and developing new business models (ASP, development of reusable packages) for new customers, and tripling international business, with projects covering more than ten countries in Europe and Africa, representing a large part of the Group's affiliates. Before this, he had both business and operational responsibilities in North America, Europe and France, where he acquired extensive experience in the management and development of business units in complex and rapidly changing environments, in particular in the IT domain. This experience included a variety of transformations such as restructuring the Mexican legacy operator, creating and developing a new and alternative operator in Spain, acquiring and merging with an internet start-up, and transforming a Regional Division of France Telecom.

A Cellular operating and control system – overall responsibility for the network operating and control system in all fields of activities: radio, switching, transmission, data communications, construction, and assets, etc. The activity is performed around the clock all year round. Construction and assets – overall responsibility for the activities of purchasing, licensing and construction of the cellular infrastructures.

Formerly at Ovum, where he had been Managing Director of Consulting, Executive Board Director and, prior to that, leader of mobile research and consulting activities, Andrew’s extensive experience of working in senior operations roles for operators and vendors is combined with a first-class research and consultancy background. He has also held managerial roles in strategic planning and marketing with organisations including BT, Marconi and Orange, and was a Principal Consultant at KPMG before moving to Ovum.

Andrew Romans is a Managing Partner at Georgetown Venture Partners, a London-based venture capital corporate finance boutique and Founder & CEO of The Founders’ Club, which pools shares from founders and investors of VC-backed companies. He has raised venture capital and advised on scores of M&A transactions in the US, Scandinavia and Europe. At the age of 26 Romans co-founded and led The Global TeleExchange (The GTX), a 90-person (PSTN-VoIP) telecom minutes exchange, where he served as President and member of the board. As President Romans facilitated a $25 million vendor financing package with Lucent and raised additional cash funding of over $50M from VCs. He holds a BA from the University of Vermont and an MBA from Georgetown University which he completed on scholarship. Romans speaks fluent English, French & German and is conversant in Czech.

He has more than 20 years of experience in R&D. Prior joining to Turkcell he was worked for : - Information Technologies Research Institute of The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (ITRI/TUBITAK 7 years) as researcher and project manager, - Technological Research Center of Turkish Naval Forces (4 years) as design engineer and project officer, - other GSM operator (4 years) as VAS Consultant and project manager, - BEKO Electronic A.Ş. (1 year) as Digital and Display Products Design Manager and SW Development Manager - and privately owned companies as founder and Universities as lecturer. He is the author of more than 15 international scientific conference paper and 20 technical reports. He holds a Master of Science degree in Electronic and Communication Engineering and Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the Istanbul Technical University.

Simon has specialised in wireless communications throughout his career - in both industry and academia. He is currently an independent consultant, working for regulators and technology firms and a visiting professor at the University of Surrey. Simon has acted as a consultant to a wide range of companies, including BAA, BBC, Mitsubishi, British Land, O2, Ofcom, BT, ntl and many others. He has invented more than fifteen patented technologies and has written more than 130 publications in learned journals, international conferences and book chapters. For several years he worked in an advanced development role for Philips Telecom, including the standardisation of the TETRA air interface for digital Private Mobile Radio. He led a team designing technology for a novel two-way paging system. Simon also spent one year working with the Ascom in Switzerland, defining product technologies and system design solutions for the first generation of TETRA handsets and base stations.

Matts earned his PhD from Stockholm University and State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1993 and continued with research in the area of Neural Networks in at Nordita in Copenhagen. After a few years at Ericsson developing radio network functionality he became responsible for UMTS development at Telia Research in 1997. Among other duties he represented Telia in numerous standardization and international operator organizations. In 1999 Matts moved to Telia Mobile with the Nordic responsibility for UMTS and common VAS platforms. After the merger between Telia and Sonera, Matts became responsible for the TeliaSonera group mobile network strategies and synergies a work that he continues as Head of Product and Technology Strategy within the Business Area Mobility Services.

Since joining Amadeus in 1998, Andrea has worked on several transactions, and he is currently on the board of Riskclick, which supplies business process management software to the insurance industry; AePONA, which is a provider of open standards service creation platforms for the telecommunications industry; Seven Networks, which allows mobile phone users real-time access to email applications; Nujira Ltd, which develops power amplifier technology that solves environmental and power efficiency problems faced by the wireless industry; IP Access, a leading supplier of picocells and femtocells base stations for 2G and 3G coverage and capacity. He started his career as a financial auditor at a chain of resort hotels in Costa Rica, rising to become head of operations, finance and development. Andrea holds an MBA from Cambridge University and a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.
