Sanjiv Aiyar,
CEO, global and wholesale services,
Singtel
Sanjiv Aiyar joined SingTel in August 2007 as CEO, Global Markets & Wholesale. He leads SingTel’s growth in the global markets – delivering Telecom solutions to customers worldwide through the Global Offices. He also drives SingTel’s Wholesale business growth with international carriers and service providers. Prior to joining SingTel, Sanjiv was President of Emerio Corp., an IT Managed Services company headquartered in Singapore with operations in 11 countries. He co-led the company with the founder CEO. He spent 18 years with Hewlett Packard prior to this. He started with DIGITAL and stayed with the company through the Compaq-HP merger. He held several senior management positions in the Asia Pacific region. His last position was VP and Managing Director SE Asia region, overseeing the financial performance of the operations in ASEAN and some of South Asia countries. His prior assignments included VP, Strategy & Development, Asia Pacific & Japan, driving transformational growth in China, India and Japan; VP, Marketing (Enterprise Systems Group), Asia Pacific region, where he successfully led marketing transformation. He also managed the high-end server and Telecoms businesses, Finance industry practice, Industry marketing, Channels development, Services P&L and Singapore sales. Prior to HP, Sanjiv worked in SI/Services companies focused on DIGITAL, Wang and Prime/IBM. Sanjiv spent over 27 years in the IT industry of which 25 years have been in Singapore. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from the Regional Engineering College, Bhopal, India and received his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. He is the President of IIM Calcutta Alumni Association in Singapore. He is married and has two children.

Rafael Arranz has served as Telefonica International Wholesale Services Vice President since December 2001. Prior to that, he was Marketing Vice President for Emergia since 1999. Mr. Arranz was an Assistant Director of Telefónica International, S.A., where he was directly involved in its ventures within the international long distance and wireless businesses in South America, as well as with the privatization of Telebras in Brazil. He was project manager of Telefónica’s Research & Development and Senior Engineer in ICL-Fujitsu’s branch in Manchester, UK. He holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, an MBA from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and an Executive Program from IESE-Harvard.

Mark Benisz, Vice President - Americas for XConnect, oversees sales, strategic planning, and business development. Mark has worked in the VoIP arena for more than 10 years and was previously an Associate Vice President with responsibility for global sales at Deltathree. Prior to Deltathree, Mark was Director of Sales in North America for VocalTec, where he was responsible for selling and implementing VoIP solutions for telecoms carriers and enterprises. Mark has spoken at several international telecom conferences. He also holds a BA degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
Geoff Biddulph,

Geoffrey Biddulph is the Director of Latin American Sales with PCCW Global -- one of the international operations of PCCW-- the quad play provider in Hong Kong. Mr. Biddulph is responsible for the business traditionally termed "wholesale and carrier" specifically for Latin America. Mr. Biddulph has held this role since January 2007 after having had worked for several of the biggest carriers. Mr. Biddulph graduated from Stanford University in 1985. He has been living and working in Latin America for 22 years and speaks Spanish and Portuguese fluently, in addition to his native English.

Erick Contag brings over 20 years of sales, marketing, business development, strategy and corporate management expertise to Brasil Telecom GlobeNet, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Brasil Telecom Group, that owns and operates the most advanced and lowest latency fiber optic submarine cable system serving the Americas. Mr. Contag has been responsible for managing C-level relationships and telecommunications / high-technology projects for start-up enterprises through large multi-national and Global 100 companies. He has proven success in starting, building, and turn-around of high-tech businesses. Mr. Contag has held executive positions in the US and Latin America, including President and CEO of a leading systems integration firm, CTO/Executive VP of a Wireless Service provider, and VP of Engineering of a leading Network Integration firm. He has served on the Board of Directors of several companies and organizations. Prior to GlobeNet, he was a partner at nLevels, worked for Simbacom, DataViz / Imagen Digital, Protokol Sistemas, and the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC). At Simbacom, he was instrumental in the design and implementation of the ASP technology architecture and service delivery platform for wireless operators. At the San Diego Supercomputer Center, Mr. Contag participated in building SDSCnet and the early trials of the NSFnet – the initial backbone of today’s Internet. Mr. Contag has acted in advisory roles within the scientific and academic community. He is an innovative thinker with keen understanding of strategic alliances and the relationship of technology / telecommunications to business. Mr. Contag holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tulsa, and an Executive Engineering Management certification from IESA.

Jim Diestel,

Jim Diestel is a career veteran of the telecommunication industry having led planning and marketing groups for over 20 years. Currently Jim heads Marketing & Business Development at Calient Networks, a leader in optical switching products. Prior to Calient, Jim was VP Marketing at Salira, an EPON startup, held various marketing and administrative positions at 3Com in their WAN and Small Business Divisions, and was General Manager for Marketing and Business Development at Premisys, a leader in Integrated Access Devices. Jim also has more than 20 years of carrier experience in marketing, engineering, and strategic planning at Pacific Bell (now AT&T). Jim received his BA from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from California State University. He has worked for large carriers, international equipment vendors, startups and established companies.

Ms. Gonzalez-Sanfeliu has over 20 years experience in the Satellite Telecommunications Industry and is responsible for INTELSAT’s sales activities in Latin America and the Caribbean. As Vice President of the region, she leads a sales force with offices located in Miami, Brazil and Mexico that contribute over $350 million in revenues to INTELSAT. The customer base extents to broadcasters, carriers, multinationals and government agencies which require the provision of telecommunications solutions such as broadcast services, broadband Internet, VSAT, corporate networks, cellular & mobile backhaul, VoIP and VPN. Born in Venezuela, Ms. González-Sanfeliu’s education includes a MBA magna cum laude from George Washington University and a BA from Georgetown University along with Independent Marketing Studies at Oxford University. Her continuing education includes Executive Leadership Training and Negotiations at the Harvard Law School. Ms. González-Sanfeliu has served as an active spokesperson for the international satellite communications industry. She has contributed articles and has been included in important feature stories for leading media outlets such as CNN en Español, Broadcaster, Producción y Distribución and CITEL. She also has been recognized as one of the world’s top international business leaders in articles recently published by World City and South Florida CEO.
Jean Marc Harion,

Mr. Harion brings more than 20 years of leadership and experience to his role as vice president, business development for France Telecom North America, where he is responsible for anticipating opportunities and developing knowledge of the U.S. market for the France Telecom Group, one of the world’s largest telecommunications firms. Mr. Harion’s pan-European experience includes a broad range of positions: in his previous role as VP of commercial development for France, he conceptualized and implemented the distribution strategy for all FT/Orange products and services in the territory, and was responsible for merchandising processes and new stores concepts across both direct and indirect distribution channels, including more than 1,200 stores. Prior to that, Mr. Harion was director of multimedia operations and portals for Orange, where he monitored more than €800 million of European IP data traffic and multimedia services per year. He also led cross country planning of direct marketing and CRM operations, pricing architecture and positioning of the OrangeWorld portal, where Orange’s mobile customers can access a range of information and entertainment sites including music, video, games, information and sports content, and the implementation of value-added content services. From 2002 to 2003, Mr. Harion was director of professional and innovative services for OrangeWorld, where he managed industrial partnerships with the likes of Sun, Intel, Microsoft and others, helped build group customer propositions for SOHO and SMEs and oversaw the development of Orange smartphone applications and user interfaces, including the very first Microsoft-powered SPV smartphone. Before joining the FT Group, Mr. Harion launched Computer Channel, an Internet and TV company providing training programs and services to companies in 26 countries. Founded in 1991, Computer Channel had 1999 revenues of €11.5 million when it was acquired by the FT Group. Mr. Harion holds a master’s degree in information management from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and a master and post-graduate degree in linguistics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Previously, Sauer worked on packet product strategy for the Tellabs® 7100 optical transport system. Prior to joining Tellabs, Sauer held variety of managerial and engineering positions at Motorola and Bell Laboratories. Sauer is active in the Metro Ethernet Forum and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Sauer has more than twenty years of technical and strategy management experience in the computer and communications industry. He holds five wireless packet networking related patents and has one patent pending. Sauer holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science from Purdue University.

Mr. Scott serves as President/COO of Columbus Networks and has more than 20 years of industry experience including fiber-optic terrestrial and subsea networks, wireless, broadband/cable TV and the satellite industries. Columbus Networks is a wholly owned subsidiary of Barbados based Columbus Communications, whose combined telecom and broadband assets in the Pan Caribbean/Americas region now exceed $ 1 billion. Mr. Scott has been instrumental in the growth and success of Columbus’ vast subsea network which today is approaching 20 country touch points and spans over 14,000 route kilometres. Most notable amongst these networks is the 8,700 km ARCOS network and the new 2,450 km CFX-1 network; an $80M express link connecting Florida directly to Colombia which entered service in July, 2008.
