Helyette GEMAN is a Professor of Finance at Birkbeck, University of London and ESSEC Graduate Business School. She is a graduate of Ecole Normale Superieure in mathematics, holds a Masters degree in theoretical physics and a PhD in mathematics from the University Pierre et Marie Curie and a PhD in Finance from the University Pantheon Sorbonne. Professor Geman has been a scientific advisor to major financial institutions and energy and mining companies for the last 15 years, covering the spectrum of interest rates, catastrophic risk, oil, natural gas, electricity and metals. She was previously the head of Research and Development at Caisse des Depots. She has published more than 90 papers in top international finance Journals and is a Member of Honor of the French Society of Actuaries. Professor Geman's research includes asset price and commodity forward curve modeling, as well as exotic option pricing for which she won the first prize of the Merrill Lynch Awards. She was named in 2004 in the Hall of Fame of Energy Risk. Her reference book Commodities and Commodity Derivatives was published by Wiley Finance in January 2005. Fred returned to Paris in 1999 to head the European Markets distribution for Barep Asset management when the hedge fund firm grew up to EUR5.5 Billion as assets under management. Tim Hornibrook is a Director of Macquarie Pastoral Services. He has worked for Macquarie for the past 6 years and over the last 3 ½ years has been responsible for the formulation of the Macquarie Pastoral Fund. The Macquarie Pastoral Fund is the first fund of its kind globally; investing in Australian sheep and cattle production in order to leverage increasing protein consumption globally and Australia’s comparative production advantages. Tim has been involved in the analysis of a range of range of agriculture commodities in order to understand their risk/return characteristics and their potential attractiveness from institutional investment viewpoint. As a result, a major area of focus is conversing with some institutional investment managers globally about how they might go about analysing agriculture and the potential investment opportunities within the sector. His previous role with Macquarie was as Head, Macquarie Private Portfolio Management (MPPM). Prior to Macquarie, Tim was responsible for the sales and marketing of BNP Paribas managed account business in Australia. Jennifer Ilkiw is a director of the IntercontinentalExchange’s® (NYSE: ICE) Asia Pacific operations. ICE operates the leading global, electronic marketplace for trading both futures and OTC energy contracts and the leading soft commodity exchange. ICE’s markets offer access to a range of contracts based on crude oil and refined products, natural gas, power and emissions, as well as agricultural commodities including cocoa, coffee, cotton, ethanol, orange juice, wood pulp and sugar, in addition to currency and index futures and options. ICE manages its Asia Pacific operations from its headquarters in Singapore which was officially opened in 2000. Prior to joining ICE, Ms Ilkiw opened and managed the Asia Pacific office of the New York Mercantile Exchange and helped to develop Singapore as a commodity derivatives trading centre in her role as Assistant Director with the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Ms Ilkiw is a committee member of the Financial Women’s Association of Singapore and an active participant in Singapore’s financial community. She earned a bachelors degree in economics from Queens’ University in Canada and a masters of business administration from the University of Toronto in Canada. Ms. Ilkiw also contributed to a textbook on international business in the Asia Pacific published in 2004.

Roland A..Jansen, from The Netherlands, holds a degree in Business Administration (lic.oec.HSG) from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. He worked in New York, London and Zurich, Switzerland, as a financial consultant for Merrill Lynch and Cargill Investor Services. He has also been a Senior Vice President for the British bank Coutts & Co in Zurich. From 1995 – 2000 Mr. Jansen was Director of Fund Management at the Liechtensteinische Landesbank AG, Vaduz, Principality of Liechtenstein. He was instrumental in developing the bank’s fund business from scratch to CHF 2.5 billion. Mr. Jansen has been a 4 year Board Member of EMFA (European Managed Futures Association - former AIMA). and a founding Member of the Liechtenstein Fund Association. He is Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Ark Bio Sdn Bhd, a regional biotechnology company focused on development of improved genetic material and mass propagation of planting material for jatropha curcas, other oil seed plants and organisms which can be utilized as feedstock for the biofuel industry. It also collaborates with research institutes on jatropha curcas agronomy, plant nutrition, farm mechanization, pest and disease management, precision agriculture as well as into alternative uses of the vegetable oil and its by-products. He also leads the Cosmo Biofuels Group which is actively engaged in establishing jatropha curcas plantations, biodiesel downstream processing and trading activities in the Asia Pacific region. He is presently developing markets and partnerships for an oilseed-to-biodiesel supply chain based on the Group’s proprietary processing technology. He was Senior Advisor (Regional Strategy and Business Development) 2004-2006 for the South East Asia operations of D1 Oils plc. For the last three years he has developed a strategic interface with related Government agencies in South East Asia overseeing the policy for biofuels and renewable energy. He is also Advisor/Strategist for the International Jatropha Organisation. Rodney Lake is a Senior Investment Analyst in George Washington University’s (GW) Investment Office. Under the direction of the Chief Investment Officer, the office is responsible for managing the University’s $1.1 billion endowment fund. Mr. Lake’s responsibilities include developing investment themes, as well as identifying and recommending implementation strategies including the use of derivatives across all asset classes. Additional responsibilities include monitoring existing managers, performing due diligence for new investment opportunities, monitoring economic, political and geopolitical factors globally, as well as tracking capital flows in the public and private markets. Mr. Lake is also the Teaching Assistant for the Applied Portfolio Management course in the MBA program at the University. The primary focus of this course is a student-managed $1.5 million portfolio within of the University’s Endowment Fund. Previously, Mr. Lake was a Senior Financial Analyst in the Executive Vice President and Treasurer’s Office at GW. In this capacity he served as an internal consultant for projects raging from financial model building to developing spin-out strategies and valuations for internal businesses. Prior to joining GW he was a Financial Analyst in the mortgage division of California Federal Bank performing valuations for portfolio acquisitions, divestitures, and marks-to-market via proprietary valuation models. During his past career in England, he worked as an Economics Consultant to ITS Consultancy at the port town of Felixstowe while also teaching Economics at the University of Essex between 1999 and 2002. Dr Leonardo Bichara Rocha has also done substantial research work using econometric modelling, in particular on issues such as sugar consumption, as well as ethanol production costs.
