Aboejoewono Aboeprajitno is currently the Director of the Basel Convention Regional Centre for South-East Asia (BCRC-SEA), a Regional Centre for facilitating the countries in the region to implement the Basel Convention through capacity building. In 2001-2003, he was the Senior Advisor of the Minister of the Environment of Indonesia in Global matter. He has become Sanitation and Environmental Expert dealing with Solid Waste Management in DKI Jakarta, and Institutional Development Specialist for the Ministry of Planning and Development’s (Bappenas) Project, which is the Indonesia Sanitation Sector Development Programme (ISSDP). He was also a Solid Waste Engineer for Western Java Environmental Management Project (WJEMP) in Solid Waste Management for Jakarta.

In 2006, he has been the CEO of Veolia Environnement group for Asia, leading the Group’s four environmental businesses to rapidly expand in the region and particularly in China. And now he is also the President for South Europe, East Europe, Africa, Middle East and Latin America. Mr. Mora speaks Spanish, French, and English etc.

Professor Ravi Naidu is the Managing Director of the Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment - a Centre that he developed and won $100 million industry and Australian Government funding. Ravi is also the inaugural Director of the Australian Research Centre for Environmental Risk Assessment and Remediation. He has researched environmental contaminants, toxicology, bioavailability, and remediation for over 20 years. Ravi has co-authored over 300 technical publications and co-edited 8 books in the field of soil and environmental sciences including field remediation of contaminated sites. Since 1994 Ravi has worked with scientists from USA, Europe and the Asia region on environmental contamination including the recent arsenic poisoning of people in Bangladesh, India and China.

Mr. Kazunobu ONOGAWA is the Director of UNCRD since July 2002. From 1988 to 1991, he was Deputy Regional Representative for Asia and the Pacific, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), in Bangkok. In 1993-94, he served as Director of the Sensory Pollution Control Division; and from 1994 to 1996, Director of the Traffic Pollution Management Division, both of the Environment Agency, Government of Japan. In 1996-97, he was in Austria to work as Senior Research Scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Vienna; then from 1997 to 2000, he returned to the Japanese Environment Agency as Principal Research Coordinator at the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES). For the past two years before joining UNCRD, from 2000 to 2002, he was Assistant Executive Director and Director of Japan Special Fund, Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) in Budapest.
