He has also held positions as Senior Medical Officer in Planning at NSW Health and in the Office of NSW Minister for Health (1990-1). Stan was appointed to the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Prostheses and Medical Devices since 2004 and is Special Advisor on all 8 Clinical Advisory Groups. Dr Vale has won international recognition for her work with a Young Investigator Award at the 5th International Conference of Preventive Cardiology in Japan in 2001, the Ralph Reader Prize (Young Investigator Award) for Clinical Science at the 2002 Annual Scientific Meeting of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand at the XIVth World Congress of Cardiology in Sydney in 2002, a Victorian Premier’s Commendation for Medical Research in 2003, a high commendation in the 2005 Victorian Public Healthcare Awards and the 2006 Australian Healthcare Association Baxter Healthcare National Innovation Award for Heath Outcomes. Her ambition is to see The COACH Program permanently embedded in the healthcare system both in Australia and internationally in both the public and the private sector.
