David Anstee is 7-Eleven’s Innovation Manager, a sessional lecture in Entrepreneurship at Swinburne University’s MBA program, and an inventor. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, and graduated with a distinction MBA from London Business School. He has worked as an investment banker for Merrill Lynch, a diving instructor in Cairns, an assistant cameraman for National Geographic in the Arctic and a professional fox shooter.

Declan joined Fintrax in 1995. Declan developed the business in Europe and Canada from 1995, and has directed the development and establishment of Fintrax in New Zealand, Australia, and Singapore since 2000.

Declan is the regional director for Fintrax Asia Pacific and the licence director for Fintrax Group Holdings.

Declan holds a Bachelor Degree of Arts in Legal Science and Modern Language, Bachelor of Law, and Diploma of Business in Accounting and Taxation. He has resided in Australia since 2000.

Geoff Begg is Vice President & GM of Corporate Services for American Express Global Commercial Card in Asia Pacific and Australia.  In this role he heads the Commercial Card business in Australia and leads the acquisition team across ten countries in the region.

He is responsible for all products in the Commercial expense management portfolio of solutions including Corporate Card, Meetings Card, Corporate Purchasing Solutions and the Business Travel Account.  Since joining the company in 2002 Geoff has helped grow American Express’ Commercial Card business by 30% each year.

Iain Blacklaw joined the Bank in September 2006 and oversees the strategic focus of the Bank’s IT platform and its service delivery, along with the Bank’s important outsourcing relationships with EDS and Fiserv. Iain has 25 years' experience in the financial and IT industries, with a successful track record of implementing major change initiatives. Previously he has held a senior Asia/Pacific strategic operations role as well as being a Board member of EDS Australia. Iain holds an Honours Degree in Economics from Aberdeen University and is a qualified accountant. In 1998 he attended the Stanford University Executive Program.

Ed leads the Consumer Lending businesses for St George Bank with responsibility for Credit Cards, Debit Cards and Personal Loans.  Ed has been with St George Bank for five years and in this time St George has been awarded “Credit Card Issuer of the year” in 2005, 2006 and 2007 by Money Magazine.  The Consumer product suite is well recognised, the Vertigo product holds several Money magazine awards and St George have numerous Cannex 5 star ratings for Credit Card and Personal loan products.

Ed’s financial services experience spans 20 years and his background includes senior roles in Retail Banking, Product Management, Marketing, Franchise development, and distribution strategy.  Prior to St George he was with Westpac and Colonial Ltd, Ed has an MBA with the University of NSW.

Michele commenced work at the Reserve Bank in 1985.  She worked in Economic Group and International Department before joining Payments Policy Department in 1998 as Chief Manager.  Michele has been the Head of Payments Policy Department since February 2007.
Michele has been involved in all aspects of the Bank’s work on payment systems over the past decade, including the reforms to card payment systems in Australia, issues in high-value payment systems and licensed securities clearing and settlement facilities, and the current review of payment system reforms.

Carl is Chief Executive of ReD and was appointed Chief Executive of Card Clear plc in 1998.
Carl spent 13 years with Texaco where he was European Marketing Co-ordinator; Managing the UK Marketing and Planning Division; and President Directeur Général of TEPAR a consortium of European card issuing companies. He then became Group Managing Director of The Harpur Group Limited - an international processor and issuer of corporate cards.
Carl has an MBA from The Cranfield School of Management.

Mandy has 31 years experience in Australian Department of Defence computing, which has ranged from computer room and site management, mainframe operational policy development and, finally, computing strategic policy and capability development.   
Her position as Director of eBusiness Strategies has brought responsibility for ‘e-matters’ in Defence for the last 10 or so years ranging from Defence, whole-of-government and Allied  eBusiness and PKI policy, architecture and strategy issues.  In the Defence and Allied environments this work is germane to the support of future military operational strategies, such as Network Centric Warfare (NCW), Force 2020 and the GIG.  
A major aspect of Mandy’s current responsibilities is as sponsor in the development of an Identity Management capability in Defence.

Mario Domingo is Head of the Service Creation Division which is the unit responsible for product development and project management at Globe Telecom, Philippines. Prior to this he was the Managing Director for Drexel Sun Business Consulting, where he specialised in project management, process management, product development and management consulting.

Gino Dompietro is a Project Leader in the Intelligent Transport Solutions Group at Transurban, where he leads the development of new technology applications for tolling and value added service.  With many years of experience in technology strategy and implementation, Gino has applied his expertise in Australia and internationally across many industries.

Indukant Gautam (IK) is currently Country Credit Risk Director for Consumer Bank, Citigroup, Australia overseeing credit & fraud risk management function for all retail lending products. He has been with Citigroup for nearly 17 years and has held similar senior roles in Middle East, India and Indonesia managing Credit Risk, Fraud and Credit Operations functions for the Bank.
Indukant holds a B.Tech. degree in Electronics from Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA (Finance) degree from Indian Institute of Management. Prior to joining Citigroup, IK was an industrial project consultant for 5 years, working on technology transfer projects with Danish and German companies.

As Executive Director of GlobalPlatform, Kevin is responsible for driving awareness and accelerating adoption of GlobalPlatform’s technology standards into global markets. He is responsible for the coordination and management of the organization’s strategic planning, as well as overseeing all marketing and business development initiatives within key market sectors, namely finance, mobile telecoms, government, transit, retail and healthcare. His role will be aligned with GlobalPlatform’s Technical Director and the three existing technical committees; Card, Device and System.

Christopher Hamilton commenced as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Australian Payments Clearing Association Limited on 1 January 2006. APCA is the payments industry self regulatory body and industry association.

Prior to this appointment, he was Executive General Manager, Clearing & Settlement at Australian Stock Exchange Limited (ASX). Mr Hamilton worked at ASX throughout the transition from a stockbrokers’ mutual into the world’s first self-listed stock exchange, a period that also saw the market explode in activity with average trades per day rising tenfold from 12,000 to 120,000 over a 10 year period. For 4 years until 2005, Chris was responsible for ASX’s clearing and settlement business: managing counterparty risk for ASX’s equities and options markets, ensuring securities delivery against payment for trades work $2 - 4 billion per day and keeping the central register of Australia’s 1.2 million most active shareholdings.

Sue Hando is the Managing Director of ReD Prepaid Cards (Australia), the leading solution provider for prepaid cards in the Australian market. Sue is responsible for the overall operation of the division including strategy, business development, sales, operations and service delivery. Sue is an experienced senior manager in the loyalty and cards industry having held senior management positions at Insurance Australia Group, Westpac and Qantas.

In June 2007, Mr Hickey was appointed EGM, Loyalty Programs.  Mr Hickey is responsible for establishing the Loyalty business as a separate segment within the Qantas Group, and developing the next generation of loyalty programs for Qantas, including increasing the options for earning and using points in the Qantas Frequent Flyer Program.

Mr Hickey joined Qantas Airways as Head of Group Strategy in September 2004, and has since taken on additional responsibility for corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, fleet strategy, and long term network planning. He has worked on the development of the Loyalty business strategy since mid-2006.

Mr Hickey is a Director of Air Pacific Limited, flag carrier of Fiji.

Farhad Irani is the Global Head for Credit Cards and Personal Loans with Standard Chartered Bank and he is responsible for the development of the bank’s asset business across 31 countries with significant scale and in alignment with the 5 year strategic aspiration. This product role reflects the Bank’s approach to a balanced matrix management and encompasses all the strategic aspects of business – Growth, Risk, Operations and Technology, People, Marketing/Product, Service and Balance Sheet management.

Stephen Karpin is the Executive General Manager of Cards at the Commonwealth Bank and is on CBA's Retail Banking Services Leadership Team.  Starting his banking career with Citibank in 1997 as a graduate in the Australian Cards business, Stephen held roles responsible for finance, marketing and portfolio management with Citibank Australia, operations in Citibank Asia Pacific's regional head office in Singapore before moving to Japan for four years to manage Citibank Japan's Cards portfolio.  Prior to joining CBA in July 2007, Stephen was responsible for leading Westpac's Cards and Personal Loans businesses for a period of three years.

Skander was appointed Managing Director Card Solutions, GE Money Australia & New Zealand in May 2004.  This group comprised the Coles Group Source MasterCard, Coles Group Card and Officeworks card. With the divestiture of Myer from Coles Group, the Myer Card was launched in November 2006 and was also part of the Card Solutions group.

In September 2007 GE Money Australia & New Zealand combined the Card Solutions and Retail Finance teams to form the Retailer Solutions team and Skander was appointed to his current role of Managing Director, Retailer Solutions.  The Retailer Solutions group includes the Coles Group Source MasterCard, Coles Group Card, Officeworks Card, Myer Card, Harvey Norman GO MasterCard, GE Creditline and GE CareCredit products, and services over 12,000 retailers and practice partnerships in Australia.  There are over 3 million accounts and 4 billion in assets in the group.

Ramin Marzbani is a market researcher and consultant with more than 12 years of experience in the online transaction space in Australia and the Asia Pacific region and 22 years of experience in the application of IT to financial services.  Ramin spent 10 years at IBM and Booz-Allen & Hamilton before founding www consult, where he was CEO and principal analyst before acquisition of the business by ACNielsen.
 
Ramin sits on a number of boards and advisory boards in Australia and the US including: Indigo VC Partners, Project Goth, Event Zero, MIR Funds Management, The MINDD Foundation and a number of other organisations.  Ramin is a member of the Market and Social Research Society of Australia and TiE.  He holds an MBA and a BE.

Dee McGrath is the Director of Cards for EDS Australia and New Zealand. In this role, Dee leads the management and delivery teams responsible for all of EDS’ cards and payment functions in region.
As part of her role, Dee is heading up EDS’ recently launched multi-client cards utility platform, with key responsibility for strategically positioning the business model for future growth, as well as managing the regulatory environment, process re-engineeing and product innovation of the platform.

Lynda McMillan is the Executive Manager of CBA's Credit Card Issuing business. In this role, Lynda is responsible for the retention and acquisition of the business as well as its business development. Part of this role includes the rollout of the Bank's contactless and EMV strategy.
Lynda has been with the Commonwealth Bank for 9 years in various executive roles ranging Product Management, Marketing and Segmentation/Analytics. Prior to CBA, Lynda was Director of Marketing for the Victoria Credit Union and before that held several roles in funds management with AXA in Sydney and Melbourne. Lynda holds an MBA from RMIT.

Sam Nickless is the General Manager of Consumer & Commercial Cards at NAB. He joined NAB in 2005 and was previously the General Manager of Strategy & Business Development for the Australian Region. Sam is a former partner of McKinsey & Company in Melbourne, where he served financial services, telecommunications, retail and consumer goods clients in Australia, NZ, US and Brazil.

Stephan Overbeek is Managing Security Consultant for VeriSign’s consulting practice in Australia.  Stephan supports the information security community in his role as national executive officer of AISA (Australian Information Security Association).

Stephan has over ten years’ information security experience, particularly in compliance, strategic information security, risk management and identity management within government, financial institutions and enterprises. He combines practical experience and theoretical knowledge with strong customer focus.

Barry has over 30 years experience in the banking and finance sector gained in both Canada and Australia.

In September 2000, he was appointed Cards Products Manager (and in 2004, Payment Systems Manager) for Caltex Australia, with responsibilites for the strategic development of the company's StarCard product range, the Reserve Bank of Australia's Payment Systems reforms (including strategic focus on acquiring development) and the development of loyalty programs.

Ian is an internationally focused advisor across the cards and payments industries. Originally returning to Australia in 2006 to join ANZ as Head of Emerging Payments, Ian now focuses on providing strategic insight and guidance on new technologies and business models as they relate to payments and chip card solutions.

Ian has directed cards & payments initiatives for more than ten years with roles at PwC Consulting, at EDS as Director of Cards Strategy for the EMEA region and CardsConsult. Initiatives include the Malaysian National ID, the Bonus Card in Turkey, Smart Cards Policy Advisor to the UK Government and as a SVP at MBNA, Ian directed the 10 million card portfolio conversion to Chip & PIN for the European operations as Head of Product Development.

Silvester has been involved in ticketing systems since 1989. His first initiative was the Integrated Ticketing System, which provided a common fare structure for Singapore’s public transport network. In 1994, he oversaw trials on the Contactless Smart Card. He is now leading a team to introduce an open system which will merge the payment infrastructure for Public Transport and congestion pricing.
