The judges are looking for:

  • Evidence that the investment has out performed in its marketplace
  • Demonstrate how the investing company has impacted the business (such as developing new markets, creating of new jobs)
  • Supporting documents should be testimonials from other parties involved in the deal

Open to all private equity firms. The award is open to all buy-outs/ins (greater than USD 350m in deal value up to USD 700) that were exited between August 2007 and August 2008.
The submission should focus on the contribution the private equity industry made to the success of business
 

The judges are looking for:
  • An exit that can demonstrate substantial return on a medium or long-term investment
  • How did the GP's contribute to the strategic development of the business
  • Evidence that the investment has out performed in its marketplace
  • Demonstrate how the investing company has impacted the business (such as developing new markets, creating of new jobs)

This award is to recognise innovation in fund-raising. It is not judged on the size of the fund. Valid for fund nominations between August 2007 and August 2008.
 
The judges are looking for: 

  • The geographical and variety of sources of funding
  • How innovative is the fund structure
  • How the fund introduced new investors to private equity
  • The quality of the presentation and marketing of the fund
  • How quickly was the capital raised
  • Did the fundraising exceed targets and expectations? - provide evidence

Any legal team that has worked on a Middle East venture capital/private equity transaction since August 2007.

The judges are looking for: 

  • Submissions should be able to demonstrate and growth of the private equity practice in terms of amount of business, number of clients, number of transactions acted

  • Evidence that the team have added value to private equity houses in transactions
  • Submissions should be able to demonstrate examples of innovation and creativity in their approach to solving legal issues
  • Supporting documents should be testimonials from private equity houses regarding execution capabilities, service levels, and the teams contribution to the private equity industry in the Middle East
