What is Animal Health Summit 2008?
Animal Health Summit 2008 is a high-quality conference featuring international and local keynote presentations from world leading authorities, best practice case studies, interactive panel sessions featuring key stakeholders and facilitated workshops.
The existence of animal diseases is a phenomenon which many countries and economies have had to cope with for centuries. During the last decade however, regions that have been free from certain diseases for many years, have experienced unexpected outbreaks of these diseases with ground shaking effects.
The effect of an outbreak can be tremendous. It is widely accepted that with an outbreak losses in the area of production, consumption and trade have to be calculated. However, other losses are more and more (scientifically) acknowledged, like market disruptions in secondary industry as feed and retail, threats to world food security, harm to the environment and negative side effects in other economic sectors like tourism.
Animal Health Summit 2008 aims to discuss all these issues and more.
